Some of the strips had a tiny bit of white on them that I couldn't quite get off, and also when I dried them in the oven they almost started to be burnt because I thought the lowest temp on the oven knob was 150, but then I realized it was 175 after 30 minutes, and they were done. So maybe this is affecting the flavor, but probably not too much.

So now I need to try zesting the peel thinner, and drying more carefully, FOR SCIENCE

YUS! I'm so glad it worked so you too can fall in love with orange coffee! :goggly: oh yeah, that zest peeling can take some practice! A real good carrot peeler is good for that as well!

I used to use a food dehydrator before it died on me. Now I kind of use the same method of making french meringue cookies, by keeping the temp very low, and sticking a wooden spoon in the oven door to keep it open ajar. Because I like crunchy dry meringue cookies rather then the chewy. Works great when drying basil too! Just keep a good ole eye on it.

Just got back from the Vet. The kid has a parasite and an eye ulcer from the infection which with the medication and visit has left me $200 lighter. The good news is the vet said he's extremely healthy for an infected gecko and isn't too grumpy when taking meds. Unfortunately, they had to get gather the stool sample from the weight machine and the nurses shirt. Teehee.
