Schecter C-1 Classic

That's half the reason why I may be getting a new guitar this summer. I'm looking for a quality fixed-bridge axe that can tune to C (with higher guage strings probably). Obviously this is not really possible on a Floyd, which my Jackson has. I love that guitar, but changing tunings is a royal pain.

I have the S-1 Elite, great guitar. Best thing is its versatility, get smooth clean tones but it can handle distortion....unlike a certain guitar that rhymes with scatocaster.

my '60 relic stratocaster sounds 300 times better than your schitter.

The search for individuality is a hard one. Unless everything in your gear chain is custom, you can almost bet someone has pulled a similar sound before. I'm still researching various rack setups and cabinet/speaker combinations that will get me what I'm after whilst also hopefully not sounding TOO much like anybody else.

I know what your saying. But with a strat, its like (unless you got eric claptons guitar) You can almost guarentee that someone else has one close by. and obviously they are quality bit of kit. But i just want something that is designed for me. And the amount of money you spend on say a prs custom 24 £2500 is definatley enough to get a custom guitar built to your spec. which is all i want to be honest.

that and a lot of the price on Fender axes is markup for the brand. Good though they may be, I'll never buy one for that absurd price, especially for a bolt-on (my peeve) neck.

whatever guitar you get, if you change pickups go with Dimarzio. Get an Evolution for the neck and a X2N for the bridge. those are perfect, if you do leads on the evolution, it sounds milky and smooth. and it sounds damn good on clean as well. teh X2N is perfect for metal. nuff said!

Kenneth R. excellent description and anaylisis on all guitars. Maybe someone knows the answer: I always thought Hendrix played a telecaster, and Clapton played a strat. Last night I was listening to "Electric LadyLand" by Hendrix and after all these years, still floors me. One of my firsat and favorite albums of all time. VOODOO Chile1 and (slight return) are the baddest songs ever written IMO.Peace.:worship:
