I have never played a Schecter, they just don't seem appealing to me along with Ibanez. Schecter guitars also look big for some reason and just are shaped weird.

schecter is the only guitar i feel very comfortable with. it's all big and stuff. lets you know you're holding something wielding power.

though, i've only held about ten guitars.

I used to be a gibson fan, but I decided to buy a 7 string, because I was tired of being tuned to b and not having a high e. So, I went to a guitar studio and bought the only 7-string they had in stock, which turned out to be a schecter c-7, bright green.

it's the best sounding guitar I've ever used, and the fretboard is a nice balance between slippery and frictiony.

I own the C-7 Blackjack.
For a mass manufactured guitar out of Korea, the quality is astounding.
I'd definitely say it's the best bang for your buck. Though I do like some of the Ibanez's as well.
Sure there's a lot better guitars out there, but for around the midrange price (between the low-end and really high-end/custom shop type stuff), I think they're probably the best way to go, personally. Hence why I did.

As far as 7 strings go, Schecter is the way to go. Six strings have a much larger market. I'm a Gibson man myself.

what they do is they make the headstock light, so it feels very good, i love the guitars, you won't be disapointed.

You can't beat a schecter for the price, but if you have more money go with an esp.

Schecters are very nice guitars in my book. I have an Ibanez RG 7 string, and so far that is my all time favorite guitar, but Schecter also makes excellent instruments. Along with Jackson before they sold out to fender.

Fender guitars blow! (my opinion)

With Jackson, you have to pay out the ass to get some quality. Their mid-range guitars are fairly shitty compared to Ibanez or Schecter, and their lower end guitars are pure shit. I own a DX10D that I got a long time ago through musicians friend. It was cool at the time but I outgrew it quick. It started hindering my playing if anything. It's really a rather shitty guitar. This is a pre-fender one too. I can't imagine what the entry-level ones are like now. I've heard they've improved, but I have my doubts.

If you have the money, go for an ESP (not an LTD, an ESP), custom shop Jackson (or an SL-1 or something), or whatever.
If you're spending 1000+, it starts not to matter so much at that point as you can get anything you want really.
But I think Schecter is definitely the way to go with 7-strings, and you can't go wrong with an RG7 either.
Carvin is another one to look at too.

FENDERs are good guitars, what you have to watch out for are squires. I hate fender anyway, though, because of their horrible, below the belt tactics and nose-in-the-air attitude towards everyone.

I just hate how Fenders play, especially strats. Everyone thinks they're so great, but they are shit. Gibson Les Pauls are also horrible guitars, very overrated.

i use my strat for blues playing every once in awhile, i've had that guitar for many years.
