Scott Ian interview at FoundryMusic

Paragon Rob: I don’t know if it’s a touchy subject or not, but I’ve heard, and I don’t know if it’s a fact or not, that John Bush was asked to participate in the reunion but declined…

Scott Ian: Yeah, that’s not a touchy subject. The first call we made, Charlie and I, was to John, the first person we spoke to, because, look, John’s the singer of Anthrax, and here’s what we’re planning on doing and our plan was to have John and Joey come out and do it and have both singers kind of split that up, and then probably do some stuff together as well at the end. So that was the initial idea. That was the plan we had in our heads. It was John who decided to step out of it and say, basically, “You guys need to go do this. It’s something that I don’t want to be a part of. I wasn’t there in the 80’s.” And really what would be the point of him being in something he didn’t feel he wanted to do. And you have to be honest about these things, that’s the bottom line. If any of us didn’t want to do it, this wouldn’t happen. It just couldn’t. Like if I felt weird about being in this reunion or anything, I wouldn’t do it. Simple as that. I totally respect John for his decision, although I wish he was out there with us because I do miss the guy.

Fuck Ya! "John’s the singer of Anthrax". :worship: :worship: :worship:

Why didn't Paragon Rob ask Scott about Rob Caggiano...? There's no fucking mention about this guy anywhere. Does anybody care about this guy actually???

I miss John too, I love Joey cause he was the singer of this band when I became a fan but John is to me the greatest singer and greatest person I ever met. Quick example: I first got backstage in '96 on the Stomp tour, talked to Scott outside the dressing room, he was bummed and said John had pulled the muscles in his back and was having a hard time breathing. I felt bad and left because I didn't want to be a nuissance. The tour manager saw me outside and asked me if I had gotten to meet everyone, I said no just Scott. He insisted that I come back in and meet everyone else (that's a fan's band, good people, just good people). I walked into the dressing room and John was hunched over in pain, I approached him feeling guilty, but as soon as he saw me he immediately jumped up and thanked me for coming, he was so enthusaiastic and appreciative. He took pictures and singed my shirt, in agony the whole time yet never losing the smile on his face. That's greatness to me, I've never gotten to meet Joey so maybe he is the same way but bands may never know how much their kindness means to long-time fans. I miss John but hopefully we'll see that wonderful human being again, even with Joey which would be great.

Great story dude! John Bush = Class

uhmm....
I would not count on it just yet about after the reunion is over its back to john.
The weird thing is that none of them have been straight out that this is just a reunion.
being a maiden fan when i first heard about the reunion with bruce and adrian back in 99. the band or ROD made it clear that blaze is out. it's a reunion!! do not get me wrong Man oh man John is an awesome singer. when my dad passed on about 4 yrs ago the only voice i had in my head at the time was john's voice singing "BARE" from stomp. Man was that heavy to hear.. I hope john stays with anthrax and continue to use his voice for songs like "BARE" that would be awesome if not I will still be listening to anthrax with joey and keeping tabs in what john is doing. Be a fan of MUSIC no-matter who is on the mike. c'mon its not sports... thank goodness

Good interview!
Dbluntman is right on about the subject of "reunion", I mean, what´s that?
And Joey is an "amazing singer" now. Am I the only one to remember the past interviews, everytime Scott was asked about Joey?

Hey Johnnie, John's still the singer! Or at least until he decides that a neverending renunion is too long. :hypno:
