Searching for tone, please help.

Hello there, some of you has adviced me to hang a file to work on tone with your help.

The record:
Amp: ENGL screamer with high gain channel on and the following EQ: LEAD 6, BASS 8, TRE 4, MID 4, LEAD PRESENCE 4.

Guitar: Passive pickups and standar tuning.

Mic: Shure 57 little off axis and about 1,5 inches from the grid.

Sequencer: Pro tools running on an Apple, I´ve recorded the guitar twice and paned left 100 and right 100. Theres no pluiggin activated ( compresor or EQ) what you hear is what the computer has recorded. I´ve done it that way to buld up step by step with your advices.

I know that the tone is totally crap but this is what I´m here for, this is the most pro forum that I have seen in all the web. Any advice will be great.

imo you should use much more highs. Maybee 8/10, and turn the presence up too.

Ok, thanks for the advice, here it is, now the TRE is 8 and LEAD PRES is 8. More high... sound better, thanks.

Hello again, I have recorded a short clip. The amp EQ is the same for now with active pickups.
Can anyone give me any advice to make this sound more clear? first guitar is recorded twice and panned 85L and 85 R and the chords are panned 100L and 100 R. Again no effects added.
