Just got in from the show, typing what I can remember, damn good night.

Death Angel was up first, started playing about 7:30pm, dunno what the hell they played.
Testament was up next, started 8:45pm, played till 9:45pm.

Anthrax started 10:20pm played till midnight.
Here's what I can remember
Earth on Hell
Fight 'Em Til you Cant
Caught in a Mosh
Mad House
Antisocial
The Devil You Know
I'm Alive
Only
In the End
Metal Thrashing Mad
Intro and end of Sepultura Refuse/Resist
Indians
I am the Law

Likely that the order isn't exact, but pretty darn close, and don't think I missed any. I was going crazy up front near Scott most of the time..crowd was starting to mosh while they were doing the sound test, wild for the first half then the crowd died off till the end. During In the End, crowd was dead..antisocial was quiet too. Crowd was really into I'm Alive and the other new songs mentioned above. Great show, well worth the $25, come again Anthrax! Wish they had more time to play.. lots of setup time between acts, maybe since it was the first show of the tour.

12 songs? Fuck....

I really hope they change it up like Charlie said. Only is boring live and I'm afraid the same will be said about some of the new stuff.

I was there. Was a pretty damn good show. Death Angel only payed about 5 or 6 songs. Not many people were into them as they were on pretty early and the place wasn't that packed during their set.. towards the end of their set it was pretty full in there and they got a pretty good response.

Testament was up next and they torn the place down. They sounded fucking heavy as shit

Testaments set list was far superior in quality to Anthrax's. I can't believe they didn't do anything from POT and did the same basic generic songs from the big 4 shows. I really thought Anthrax would play longer and do a better variation of songs. I'd much rather see "Time" than "Only' or "Among The Living" rather than "Anti Social"

If you are a Testament fan you will love their show.

Testaments setlist was something like this:

The Preacher
The New Order
The Persecuted Won't Forget
Envy Life (I haven't heard them do this song ever was awesome)
Over The Wall
Souls of Black
Into The Pit
Electric Crown
Henchman Ride
More than Meets the Eye
DNR (Was fucking awesome!)
3 Days of Darkness
Practice What You Preach (Epic!)

I am a big Testament fan and have seen them a bunch of times. This was a brutal setlist. The upstaged Anthrax IMO. It seemed like a lot of the energy from the crowd was gone towards that last 1/2 of the Anthrax set. Their set was fairly boring IMO. Though they did sound pretty good. The new songs sounded alright. But Testament blew them away imo.

Anthrax needs to really look in the mirror and see they are fucking boring and predictable. It was cool to hear a few new songs. But when Indians, Madhouse, Caught In a Mosh, Anti-Social and ESPECIALLY Only come on its like WTF how many times do we have to hear the same fucking songs over and over again. I was hoping that since this was a headlining show they would pull out some songs they haven't done in a long time, but nope, same boring predictable setlist.

But if you haven't seen Anthrax in 20 years I guess its a good setlist. They sounded good. Joey sounded great. Just boring setlist iMo.

Not to be a dick, but surely you know Anthrax - like almost every band on Earth - is going to have 5-6 absolute staples in their setlist that you're always going to hear.

Testament included. When was the last time you saw them do a show and they didn't play Over the Wall, The Preacher, Into The Pit, Souls, Electric, etc.???

Anthrax played a handful songs that haven't been in their setlist more than a few months...... I don't see any negatives in that personally.

Oh well..... guess you just can't please everyone.

I suppose you are right. Though I guess with Anthrax those 'staple' songs get very old very fast. I guess if they were to throw in "IN My World" "Time" "Skeletons" "Room For One More" or anything other than what they have been playing non stop for the past year or so it would be nice.

But I suppose not everyone at the shows really follows the band on youtube and what not so they like hearing songs like Anti Social and get into the 'whoohoohh' stuff they do every time before the song starts.

It just seemed at this show that Testament has more energy and the crowd seemed to get restless during Anthrax for some reason

I don't have an issue with the setlist. Almost half of it is new songs, that's killer. They've got to play some staples every time, because people expect them, and the people that have never seen Anthrax would be disappointed if they didn't. I'm Alive is a big surprise, but I think it'll be great live.

I've seen Iron Maiden 17 times, and I plan on hitting 25 sometime next year. I'm so completely sick to death of hearing Fear Of The Dark, Number Of The Beast, The Trooper, and 2 Minutes To Midnight live. Do I keep going to see them even if the "classics" bore me to death? You bet, because they're still a great fucking live band. Same applies to Anthrax.

Everyone looks at it different I guess. Besides Only I will be going nuts during the songs you mentioned. I would be bummed if I didn't see them. I realize there are some people here that have seen Anthrax 20 times and they should throw you guys a bone, but the majority of the people at the shows want to see songs they know or like.

For most bands, if they drop their staples, they might please the 10-20% of the crowd that are rabid followers (e.g. this board), but will get savaged by the 80-90% who came to hear primarily those songs. Setlists are not made for the rabid fans, unfortunately for us. It would be touring suicide to do otherwise.

Sure we can hope they throw in deeper cuts for us, but they can never drop the staples. That's just reality.

Yea your right. It seems like the same identical set list Ive seen for Testament several times. But Testament is so powerful live, Id say Testament and Overkill put on the most electrifying act on stage, plus they do sometimes mix it up and play so rare songs. Anthrax is straight up not putting any really true musical effort and being creative anymore for their live shows.

I'm actually pretty happy with that set, they did ply five songs from the new album. I'm sure they'll mix it up, at least some, along the way.
Me too, five new songs that's great. People bitch about the same 'ol songs being played...5 NEW SONGS PEOPLE! Even though we here may be sick of the staples, understand that we here are more hardcore than 90 percent of fans. We all have heard a billion different live versions of the staples and may be sick of them but the rest of the people haven't. I will probably be the only one out of 1000 people at the house of blues on Nov. 1 who is as crazy as we are. The rest just paid to hear the classics. Yep 5 new songs is good for me don't care about the rest.
