Yes. It's quite awesome and interesting. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. You learn a lot about all kinds of different sharks, but I especially enjoy it when they discuss great white sharks.
Mythbusters is quite awesome. LadyValerie did you see the one they did about JAWS? Quite awesome and definitely my fav so far.

shark week is one of my fondest childhood memories. i remember the first time i saw it. it was the same year marine world put in the shark exhibit, where you go in the tube under water.

im a total geek

Nothing wrong with being a nerd, gr. :) I like that kind of shit too and going to museums. Actually the one in Golden Gate park is reopening at the end of September and I'm quite excited by that.

Shark Week used to be awesome. I used to watch every episode avidly! Long story short, it was cool back when they had a lot of mystique and atmosphere, and they were much more serious. Now adays it's too extroverted and cartoonish, I don't dig it anymore.

But I still like my old tapes from several years ago. I loved the eye-catcher they used to use of the TV falling into the ocean. That was creepy.

I DO like Mythbusters a lot but it's not the right atmosphere for Shark Week IMHO. I guess it's just a different kind of thing now adays. It's been going in that direction for a long time... I think the first year I watched it was the only year that I saw the eye-catcher I talked about. I think the best years were around '98, '99. I have a bad memory though.
