I vaguely recall Ozz made a thread about this back in the day, but this is more than just a poll thread about razor types. I know some of you are too metal for razors and use swords, axes and fingernails, but seriously, what do you use to shave?

This is my usual setup. Yup, lather using brush in a cup with warm water. I find it to be way more effective in keeping the afterhairs from being too hard.

What about you guys?

Damn that is a nice collection of shaving products.

Obviously I am not a man so it's different for me.

I use Bic type razors (2 or more blades is ideal) and hair conditioner. I don't understand why people waste money on shaving cream and crap when conditioner works just fine. I also like Gillette Mach 3 razors when I come across them. Shaving isn't a big deal though since I don't have leg hair.

I use razor blades and soap.

It's mostly for my peach pedo fuzz that likes to grow above my lip and on my neck/chin.

I'm a perfect specimen of blond Aryan purity and thus my translucent facial hair requires no shaving as it is invisible to all not of my racial distinction.

actually my peach fuzz mustache is getting fairly ridiculous and I probably should save, but meh

I use the same Gillette Sensor Excel I've used for about the last 15 years.

It has two blades which I find to be plenty, I tried a four-blade Gillette Fusion once and found it ridiculous and hard to use. It also has a lubricating strip which generally runs out after 3 or 4 shaves.

I shave in the shower using a small cheap shaving mirror. Some times I use shaving gel, sometimes just some Cetaphil. I don't have very thick beard hair so it isn't a problem. Blades last me ages as well.

I use this

but i'm slowly getting tired of shaving everyday, so i need to buy an electric shaver.

back when I did shave, I used a safety razor (like Cryptal), shaving soap and a badger brush. I actually really liked it

Then the girlfriend told me to grow the beard out. So now I just use an electric beard trimmer.

I have a Gillete something or other (Bitch has like 30 blades), which was pretty sweet...it was just that and a little shaving cream. Now I just use that for my neck, since I'm keeping a beard. I use a Norelco electric razor for keeping the rest of it even and short. This means about 5 minutes of maintenance every two days or so.

Does someone have to have a a gripping problem to use ultra-grip razors?
No, but the razors should have had a gripping problem for the company to come up with an ultra-grip.

Unless its the gripping of the hair which is being refered to. I hope not :erk: Razors tugging on hair is the primary reason for ingrown hairs.

It's the gripping on the handle. Maybe, people have gripping problems when shaving, obviously not me, that's why the company has come up with ultra-grip shavers.
