Note:All are rough mixes, not all files are mastered.. so things will change, levels, compression, etc. what im aiming at here is the character of the guitar files and what would be most fitting for TGM.

Very nice! I think it sounds good. I've listened to your stuff so much though that its taking me a minute to get used to the new sound. I think the quality of the amp over the POD is definitely better, but I don't think its sitting in the mix as well as the POD did. I'm sure that's just a mixing issue since its really hard to just swap the guitars and expect the rest of the mix to be balanced with it. I'm looking forward to hearing some tweaking. Props to you!
 
Cheers Splatt, my thoughts exactly! It IS weird to hear something else on these tracks after being a POD XT warrior for sooo many years now, but i really do dig it and i shall tweak away this weekend see if i can get it to sit in with the mix a bit more... any tips? i did a bit of mid allready btw.
 
Well, definitely a good sound, but also lacking in the "upfrontness" and power in that of the previous mixes i think. I'll check out again tomorrow, as i have just arrived from the pub lol...
 
This sounds like a great song with great tones!

I can't wait to hear it after it's been tweaked.

It's making me want to trade my TSL head for a 5150 even more! :lol:
 
Too smooth and not enough bite IMO (like the Pod tone had); should've used the Recto! (and my definition of "smooth" btw is that fizzy character of distortion the 5150 has, rather than the "bark" of the Recto)

lolzgreg, drums are DFHS with some samples.. same old as i have been using for ages now lol, but it works.
I just updated the mix a bit btw, so i'll post a hopefully wee bit better mix tomorrow and see what i can improve further...
 
I'll reamp guits with a bit more CUT later.
I wasn't going to copy the old/POD guitar's style but wanted it to be just Br00thulz.....
but I'll reamp again with this kinda sound with a bit more bite....so Bob can choose what he wants to use.

I fucking love those songs
