I got sniped on Egay just last night, but I think I can probably bring one home for under $500. A few years ago they were going for $150 but the hype has hit the grapevine, or something. Still much cheaper than an old Ampeg or Mesa Boogie tube amp.

I don't need one, and they don't exactly have the power to compete in live situations, but they definitely have an oh-so-cool vibe unmatched by very few other things, at least in my small realm of bass/book/boobs/beer love.

I remember when I was asst. managing at a music store we got two Sunn amps in... it was so wonderful. Stevie and I spent days in front of that bastard trying to replay riffs from "Dragonaut".

YES, fucking buy it.

buy it, then sell it to me for $25 in a few years
hahaha it totally took me a minute to get this. :loco:

Okay I just decided to put off ordering a custom bass until later this year so yes, I am going to go for this and hopefully not spend more than 5 bills.

hahaha! Yeah right. :loco:

He says he's sending me a check this week though, we'll see if that happens. I sorta stopped caring because well, it's only money. Live and learn.

JAYSUS CHRIST!!! [/King Arthur]

I think they are just on the verge of becoming ridiculously expensive, so if I'm ever going to do it, NOW'S THE FUCKING TIME, as the saying goes.

$400 for a Sunn > $1200 for an Ampeg just like everyone else has

i say NO!
hmm it was pretty weird, when I first heard of the band 2-3 years ago, I was like "what strange band name.." and went and looked at a music electronics magazine, and then there was an ad for some bullshit, but the bassist was using those amps.

they started out as basically an EARTH tribute band... EARTH had a record called something about "broken SUNN amps" and they liked using sunn amps and yeah

Then again if this doesn't work out, Imma just get a new Traynor:
