I just thought about our viewpoints for a second. People like me and possibly GR, and as I see now, J., (not counting Krig because he's a racist anyway) live in parts of the US that are the most affected by illegal immigration, whereas you (V5) and CC are basically in opposite sides of the country where I assume, though existent, illegal Mexican immigration isn't prominent. I'm not trying to discredit what anyone is saying though.
I support legal immigration, obviously, my parents and I are immigrants. I think the illegal immigrants here already should be deported and after a certain amount of time, should be allowed a chance to legally apply for citizenship. They broke a law, moral or not (and to be honest there should be no discussion of morals with this, it's mostly a matter of national security ffs). If these are genuinely good people, then having to wait to apply could be something akin to jailtime. So you're a good person? Okay, well, you still broke a law, so you'll have to wait.
