Should Mexican Immigrants Be Allowed Into The U.S Freely

America has a long history of shitting on its immigrants until there are so many that they can't do it anymore (see Italians, Irish etc.) I think we should take a more enlightened view now. How many of your relatives came from Europe? Why is Mexico any different?

my family came legally. alot of the mexicans did not.

Great, let's build even more prisons.

and then the prisoners can pick the fields. and im serious.

a prison my grandfather used to work for in north carolina used to have a textile factory inside. the prisoners not only made their own uniforms, but made other products which they sold. then a textile union sued because the prison was making things cheaper. the union won.

this prison was actually self sustained. we should go back to this, and start with prisoners picking fruit and vegetables in california. this ofcourse only applies to those who are low risk, like those hiring illegals.

Do you know what a gulag is?

i know everything because i read wikipedia

picking fruit or making textiles isnt cruel or unusual. though im sure some liberal lawyer will argue otherwise...

edit: also, gulags were bad for many reasons. prisoners being assigned to labor isnt even at the top of the list

because those who are doing it are coming here illegally. now if we can get average joe citizen to do the work, then thats awesome. but lets be realistic.

We're discussing whether we think that should be a crime or not ldo so that's a moot point.

CC said if they don't commit crimes they should be able to become citizens, but they already did commit a crime so why should we let them become citizens freely? It's like punching someone in the face and insulting their mother and then expecting to come to that person's birthday party.

You're repeating the same argument, but you're not hearing what is being said. Law is not equal to morality; laws are in place to prevent the degradation of civilized society. There is a big difference.

Val: it's not like that at all. Check your logic.

they broke the law
~gR~

Does that mean the law is right? No, it is such a two-faced law considering the people that come Europe and Asia.

The illegals who are already in should be offered an unobstructed path to citizenship.

Of course. They are doing the jobs no one else is doing, they are the ones providing the backbone for us.

my family came legally. alot of the mexicans did not.

So did mine. They don't cross over because they get a ton of extra benefits, aside for a better living standard. They don't get the same medical benefits we do, they have the possibility of having their families split apart, it is hard to get decent jobs.

In short, no. I live in Texas, so I am in one of the most affected states. Let me tell, it is annoying to have signs in stores, billboards, etc with Spanish on it, right below the English text. If you're going to come into the country, at least learn the damn language.

Also, everyone complains about rising medical costs? Well, if our emergency rooms denied these illegals access to FREE HEALTH CARE, by saying no to treating a damn fever at the ER, then perhaps the taxpayer's costs would go down. Yes, there are other factors into the rising costs, but c'mon.

Also, with more illegals comes more crime. True, these are usually isolated incidents, but Houston crime rose exponentially when we took in those damn Katrina hoodlums, and these illegals aren't helping matters. I praise the actions of Joe Horn. Give him a medal. If you aren't familiar with the case, it became a spectacle down here. I think it's on Wikipedia. Yep: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Horn_shooting_controversy

I think you are right that they should learn English but deny the illegals entrance into the country or to give them the right to become a citizen is stupid and bad choice on our part. Helping them learn English will help them crossover into our culture and add to it. The bad living situations get worse everyday because of our own companies going into there and giving them bad paying jobs and work conditions. We are the people causing them to hate where they live and giving them a reason to cross, and somehow we allow ourselves to manipulate them but than build a wall to keep them out, and did we not tell Berlin to take down their wall? That is purely tyrannical.

I just thought about our viewpoints for a second. People like me and possibly GR, and as I see now, J., (not counting Krig because he's a racist anyway) live in parts of the US that are the most affected by illegal immigration, whereas you (V5) and CC are basically in opposite sides of the country where I assume, though existent, illegal Mexican immigration isn't prominent. I'm not trying to discredit what anyone is saying though.

I support legal immigration, obviously, my parents and I are immigrants. I think the illegal immigrants here already should be deported and after a certain amount of time, should be allowed a chance to legally apply for citizenship. They broke a law, moral or not (and to be honest there should be no discussion of morals with this, it's mostly a matter of national security ffs). If these are genuinely good people, then having to wait to apply could be something akin to jailtime. So you're a good person? Okay, well, you still broke a law, so you'll have to wait.

The law is fucked though and morals behind it is not right.

And Krig fuck you if you are indeed a racist. And how you Choking Victim and Leftover Crack if they support this so much?

read my first post you stupid bitch.
I dont give a fuck if they are from Germany, Sweden, Russia, Lithuania, Italy, Nigeria, China, Argentina, Mexico.....
If you are here illegally, you should be fucking sent back!
and the employers should get a huge fine and be thrown in jail.
Tired of this pussy bullshit!
There was a chinese buffet just down a the street from me who had a bunch of illegals working for him. His business got shut down and he is in jail.
Fuck the shitheads leaching off of me and the rest of this country!

Immigrants shouldn't be given the rights of a US citizen until they actually become a US citizen. This includes social security benefits, driver's license, etc.

It's a national security issue. If they don't want to become a citizen, they should be deported to their home country. Simple concept.

Fuck Nancy Pelosi and her view on this.
