3 - Since our recommendation 'template' requests that you provide a description of the music, and why you think it's worth recommending, it's practically a review anyway. So please don't cut and paste someone else's opinion of the album, make the effort and post your own thoughts.

Well damn. I've tried writing reviews before, and I'm crap. Plus, I don't have time these days.

Well we have about 60 reg/semi regular posters on the forum. At 3 a week it would take nearly 5 months to get through everyone.

Yeah, I guess the question is, how many people will be participating? We might have 60 folks coming and going at random, but it looks like only 15 people or so will be participating. (I'm only going by the results of this poll).

OK so let's start to get this show on the road...

first of all, aside from Doomzeefuhrer, does anyone want to go first or in the early rounds? If you already have recos in mind, then that will allow the rest of us to get our act together.

I definitely want to be involved, but honestly, pretty much any new music I hear these days comes from this forum in the first place! I used to do loads of my own research, checking out new bands and stuff, but I just don't have the time these days. I'll try my best to come up with something original though.

OK well I tell you what, we'll throw a roster together that kicks off in a week, giving even the first rounders a few days to prepare their recos. Don't forget, this includes a simple paragraph write up as well.

(Or of course feel free to elaborate as much as possible, it's up to you. It's your job to sell the release. When I did a recommendation for SLUMBER, I even identified highlights of songs by noting the exact time of those key select compositions/riffs/etc).

Or just do another one.

And there is no way I'm having 6 sticky threads in the regular forum each week. This is definitely going into the subforum, hence the need for each reco to be a review description.

If anyone just writes, "listen to this because it rules", I'm going to delete the thread. :heh:
