Should we make an album? And professionally release it?

I mean... there are a heap of musicians and engineers here - is it time we finally got together on a major scale and produced something as a whole and get it released internationally in the likes of hmv, virgin, itunes, amazon etc?

It could also become a huge potential marketing album... aka its free advertising for session musicians, engineers, artists etc if it ever became somewhat successful for future works with professionals in the industry. If even 1 person from the forums got somewhere great out of it, it would be a huge success and something in the future we could all say we were involved in.

proceeds to charity if any - dont be greedy fucks :Puke:

What all think? Or should i bury the idea for another 5 years?

ahem... sneap forum merchandise, sneap forum tours etc - hahahahaha

EDIT: im aware that there are small collaborations currently running on the forum but by the above i mean get everyone involved, by everyone i mean active users who use the forum quite a bit

I like the idea of playing together with members of this forum too. Mostly because it would be a lot of fun and peeps could also learn some more from each other directly.

the only thing i can think of that would go wrong in the process is that the search term "sneap forum" and the result of ultimatemetal.com's link to here would dramatically loose its google / yahoo / bing page rank but fuck it! haha

It´s impossible to involve ALL, so there will be sneapsters, who´ll feel down, because of that. The basic idea of collaboration is absolutely great, though. I have often used this opportunity here and even meet some of those, who are involved in my project (Metaltastic). This is absolutely great! But to involve a large number of sneapsters, is not easy.

I´m a dreamer! That´s why I want my album to be filled with contributions of sneapsters living in different places on the earth. This is international understanding in a wonderful way.

i know not everyone is going to get involved, is going to want to get involved or is going to bother getting involved. but this gives us a chance to do a collab on a mass scale getting as much input as possible from every direction. all i can say is fuck it.. its worth a try, like i said if even one person from the bunch of us gets anything out of this that would be a massive success in itself. and for the most part in 20 years down the line you can show your kids look what i was involved in. because lets face it, for the most part the majority of us are never going to get a chance to professionally release something. this way we are pulling all of our strengths together. with so many good musicians, engineers, producers, law men etc here we have a great opportunity to create something unique something that could be a first. and with such an army of people so long as everyone pitches in shit will be done. IMHO its easier & going to be more successful then chancing your arm and going solo with your local band

okay well then i think first things first is we have to prioritize people into categories

example:

graphic artists
producers (sonics etc - not mixers)
mixing & mastering engineers
web design engineers
album management & production
album business management
movie producers (if this is to be done professionally we need movie geeks)

etc

i think the best way i could organize this is to keep this thread up and running for about 2-3 weeks - that way everyone who wants in will get a chance to see the thread. in the mean time i'll make up a tiny website with a form - everyone who wants in simply fills in the forum with their details like name, email, what they can input into the project etc

i think that would be the easiest way of doing it because if everyone like above starts saying "im in" it leaves little space for order & classification of ranks etc

all i can say is dont go over board - example if your a dam good metal mixer then sign up but if you know fuck all about law then dont bother your hole signing up for law because its going to confuse shit

for example in my case i have a HND in popular music & performance. i'm no way a mixing engineer - i know my way around a daw and i can produce some pretty nice mixes etc but they would no way touch some of the productions of the boys here - where i would specialize in would be music business, production, producing, song arrangement (being a musician for 10 years now), band management etc

so yea - stay tuned - i'll fire up a website with a form and everyone who wants in will sign up - that way i can draft stuff out and start handing out tasks to keep some order

what do you's think of that idea?

EDIT: AND IT WOULD MAKE ANDY PROUD AS FUCK THAT HIS MINIONS FINALLY STUCK THEIR FOOT INTO THE INDUSTRY

yeah, I also thought I could lay down some drum midi tracks - although people here definitely would have resources to record the real thing. Anyway, hit me up if midi drum tracks played by a real drummer are needed.

if your a musician fill it in on the bottom section - i didnt add it because i felt that most people here in some way are musicians and would want to input in that manner

I just signed up! I really want to help with this fucking awesome idea! I don't know if the form got sent right, so If you could let me know man, that would be cool!

so far there are 3 of us - people should put their money where their mouth is and the site works f-ing perfect it internet explorer, chrome and safari...

give it a break.. i done it in about 10 minutes - lol and the signup button is on the bottom of the form

It worked ok for me, I think it did anyway hahaha, do you have to give a donation to join? Its just I don't have a fucking penny at the moment, but once I do I sure as hell will donate to this, but I would really like to do something for it!
