Just picked one up today.... VERY cool mic for the price. For male vocals, it seems a nice counterpoint to a cheap condensor. I'm curious if anyone else on here is using one & which settings you prefer?

I just got it & tried it out on my own voice. "Smooth" is a bit of an understatement. I think this would be the perfect mic for death metal screaming.
The question would be the opposite, "how would a singer handle that microphone live?"Jackal_Strain said:I'm also planning on getting one. This might be a stupid question, but how well would it handle vocals live?

I can't wait to use mine on a session!James Murphy said:as i've mentioned before in these pages, i used an SM7 for Mike Kameron's vocals on the DAATH album i engineered and mixed for Roadrunner which is coming out in Feb. all of the DAATH tracks any of you have heard that i've posted up here were all done with SM 7 on vox. Andy turned me on to the mic while i was at his place during the Nevermore "TGE" sessions.
