Sitar

Here is the deal, I've created a song sounding Indian with drone notes and middle eastern scales. I want it to sound like a sitar as much as possible. Now my budget is tight, so I cant afford the Boss Gt's or anything like that. Is there anything I can do to the guitar or anything homemade to get the sound?

probably deep scallop the fretboard, thou i advise you be very cafreful and know what you're doing if you do decide to do that.

You could download a free sitar sampler instrument and re-do all the parts... yeah right... wouldn't sound expressive enough anyway.

Kill the low freq, try and find some crazy spectral effect or chorus effect or something to get a nice sitar sound... I have no clue really, just experiment a lot.
