Slate Digital FG-X Mastering Processor

guys, still using FG-X as best master plug or no longer ? any new experience ?

Automation with it is KEY! That was the biggest lightbulb to turn on in my head after hearing a few examples Slate did for others where he explained where and how he automated the ITP slider.

I'm still finding I like a master comp before it that is more obvious in it's character for a tiny glue - the FGX comp is so good and transparent that I just don't feel I'm hearing it enough unless drastic. So I'm just hitting 1-2db on a color comp, and then 1-2db on the FGX comp. The one thing I'm using less and less of is the transient designers. Was using them more drastically at first, but found that if I like what they are doing I should just go back and tweak the mix to do the same thing.

Very stoked to see FGX2.0 once it comes out, it really seems like they got it tweaked very much based on public response.

I still like it, it's not totally transparent but nothing is, you have to work with it. It also doesn't provide much 'glue' if you are used to getting that from a limiter you'll have to adjust yourself a bit.
