Slave To The Dark (Iced Earth box set)

I never understand why people buy box sets. Either you're a fan, and you own 90% of the stuff in the box set, or you're not a fan, and buying one CD would seem like a more realistic starting point.

Have to admit I too see little reason for a set like this other than replacing/updating an album collection which is something I did when Queen released The Crown Jewels many years back (set with all releases up to the The Game).

I much prefer box sets that that enhance collections with alternates and/or demos ore other live recordings never released....one of the best, while not metal, is The Faces box set released a while back which includes a lot of their BBC show performances. (....old Faces fan from......waaaaaaaaay back.)

Their first couple CDs are amazing, but I think they should be remastered. Any final word on whether or not this includes remastered versions? were they remastered in the previous 5 cd box set?

Hey, that is pretty cool. The little album sleeve design is great. The set looks well worth it.

CM Distro is one of my favorite online resources. Their prices are usually very reasonable.

I wonder what Jon thinks of this set?
