Reign in blood just edges out Hell Awaits for me. Divine Intervention is a distant third, since it was the first slayer album I ever heard.

Haunting the chapel is probably my favorite album by Slayer, but I guess it doesn't count because of being an EP

Indeed. RiB would be the clear winner anywhere else.

SoH is and will always be my fave as it's the first album I got into by them. It's a combination of the ice-cold darkness of Hell Awaits and the aggression and better production quality of RiB.
