Small club, big club.

Im with Moonlapse (since we saw them in the same place), small clubs are kick ass.

I cant imagine seeing a band in a stadium that seats 100,000, no wonder Roger waters got pissed off, all those people, fuck that.

they sometimes play at the bigger places when they open for bands like Korn, POD, and System of a Down. but that was back in the Morningrise days when they were just a support band. now they are headliners of big tours.

I saw them here and it ruled... that's all I can say. I feel almost without exception that I would rather be a few feet away from a band when they play. It is one of my main internal conflicts with this LA stop of the SOTU.. anyway.... small...definately small.

Out.:flame:

like most everyone has said, i'd favor a smaller place because of the way Opeth puts on their shows. bands like Maiden or Priest i'd rather see in a huge venue because that fits their stage presence.

With Opeth I just love the whole atmosphere of a small venue filled with nothing but Opeth fans singing along to the songs and cheering the good riffs, while Mike throws around jokes and people shout things out between the songs. I don't think that can be achieved in an arena or whatever.

heh yeah, in sf last year before they played dotf he said "this is a song we came up with when we were in a circle, praying to our dark lord........satan" (cue audience roar)

Small venues are great, but when you live in a big city it doesn't happen too much. Although, the other night Origin played at this crappy little bar, and I met three of the guys in the band, and Gorgasm's drummer's wife. I got to watch the drummer from about four feet away because I couldn't get into the bar, but could see through the window they were back against. Awesome stuff.

take this award and shove it

i just watched office space last night. for the billionth time. and it was still good.

i also watched "princess mononoke", and i was really high, and it was the singular trippiest thing i've ever seen :hypno:
