I don't know that Jason would have lasted with F&J. I know it was Metallica that made him a bigger name and allowed him to branch out further but I still reckon he'd have eventually tried to branch out and move in the direction he has.

I think it's part of that snobbery that would have eventually seen him go out by himself. Whether it was after one album or five I just think he'd have always been looking for something else. Good luck to him for travelling the path he did but lets face it Newstead wasn't (in his words) the success he hoped and since then what he's done is not worthy of Metallica, let alone worthy of F&J.
