Ah...I thought that promoter's name sounded familiar. JOP played that Sun/Steel fiasco here in Florida a few years back. He never sent the deposit and I remember that Oliva freaked out when we heard they screwed over some of the other bands on Day 1 (no money). We called Jack and asked if he had our money for the show and he said "no, but I am working on it...Play your show and if I have to I will write you a CHECK". Bwah-hah-hah...yeah right!
We told him we were not even coming to the venue unless he had cash. He finally called 3 hours before our show "with cash in hand" so we went and did that silly show in front of 175 people max....most of them from the other bands and staff! Unbelievable!

FWIW, I like Macabre; they are probably the least-greedy band when it comes to tour merch prices.....so I have to wonder why they and Koshit are so often linked.

Absolutely got paid...We wouldn't even take our gear out of the truck without it!...What a friggin mess that was!

I am completely serious about it and I want this to be an effort to remove the stain that Koschick has put on the face of heavy metal promoters.

Attendees of Milwaukee Metalfest can present their ticket stub at the door and receive FREE ADMISSION to the first ever FLIGHT OF THE VALKYRIES female metal festival in St. Paul, Minnesota. FLIGHT OF THE VALKYRIES is the first Midwest metal festival devoted solely to heavy metal bands with female lead vocalists.
“What happened in Milwaukee was a revolting tragedy of epic proportions. I am sick and tired of hearing about hardworking bands and loyal fans getting cheated and lied to in this business. I am making an effort to show everyone that there are still honest promoters working in the music industry and that the Midwest is not full of crooks and incompetents,” said Nathan Block of SwordLord Productions in a statement issued to Blabbermouth.
This year’s FLIGHT OF THE VALKYRIES festival will take place on June 16, 2007, at the Station 4 Nightclub in downtown St. Paul. Headlining this year’s festival is the legendary DORO PESCH formerly of Warlock. Also appearing at this year’s festival is VAINGLORY from Georgia; EARTHEN, a Chicago folk-metal band featured at Heathen Crusade 2; THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE from Wisconsin; SPIRTUAL DECAY and Minnesota’s own VISIDEON and SIRENS OF TITAN.
In order to receive free admission, attendees need only present their ticket stub from Milwaukee Metalfest. In addition, any band who performed on the bill is welcome to attend free of charge. Each band member may also bring one guest who will also be admitted free. The only stipulation for band admission is that the band must have been listed on the official line-up for Milwaukee Metalfest.

We (Exciter) did not perform at this show. We had talked with the promoter, but never came to an agreement. He decided to advertise that we were playing anyway...

Wow...I can't believe Koshick is still around. It boggles my mind how he's not in jail. In MMF's heyday it was a huge ripoff, even. The thing bands need to keep in mind is what everyone entering into ANY sort of agreement should keep in mind:
GET IT IN WRITING!
Getting that little bastard in violation of a written contract would go a long way towards ending this sort of garbage. Having a lawyer look over a contract is not a huge expense in most cases, and the ability a proper contract gives you to protect yourself and your interests from fraud is well worth the price.

they are trying to setup a festival for 2019! they are looking for bands, just want to warn as many bands as possible
