so does anyone know why the in flames board is gone?

I don't think an official reason was given, but the general opinion seems to be that they were sick of people bashing the new album.

There were threads on this in the Swedish metal and DT forums, search there if you really care ;)

yes that is right. Anders said during an interview that whe was fed up with ppl just posting bullshit over there (about the new album and other stuff) and that UM members were pretending posting as IF members.

If you miss it, there is an unoffical forum for IF fans over att www.hmas.org.

You are welcome over there!

Hi. I moderate the new In Flames board. I also moderate the Iced Earth, Sonata Arctica and Hammerfall forums over there. The guys are partially right. But more, it was the SPECIFIC BS of people saying the band is taking drugs, they do all these different things, etc that were JUST NOT TRUE. And yes, some people on UM were acting like they were the band members. NOT cool.

maybe they realized that touring with nu metal bands in the us is just plain weak. my god i want to see them again, being the third time, but with FUCKING MUDVAYNE!?!?!?!?. please...give your fans more credit.

OH COME ON!!!!... just becose they are touring with some nu-metal bands, dosen't mean IN FLAMES its a horrible band... YOU WANT IN FLAMES'S MUSIC... why do you care if they tour with Nelly Furtado, Slipknot, Mudvayne or whatever... its MUSIC after all

CONCLAVE OBSCURUM....please....

no offense but read the post....i was making light of the fact that they took down the board...no big deal...i still love in flames and own everything including the demo and nowhere did i say i disliked their music you crackhead.....why would i want to pay $15 to see them play with some shitty nu metal band....i would almost pay the money to see just them but i feel ripped off that they are touring with mudvayne...i would rather see something like slipknot than mudvayne....

In flames music is not the same when they tour with bands like slipknot etc. They only play the new stuff, because that's all that would keep fans of easier bands from going "what the hell is this" and booing the band and never buying tickets to shows that In Flames plays at. Honestly when you tour with cash cows, you have to adjust otherwise you won't get on the bill, that's just how it works. When I saw In Flames last April, everyone knew the Clayman songs, and when they broke out songs like Clad in Shadows, almost everyone arond me was just kinda reacting in a "what the fuck is this shit" attitude towards it. I was one of maybe 1 person of 1/4 of the people there into songs like artifacts and behind space, the rest of the "fans" stood there baffled and confused as to how their "extreme and super heavy band" could play songs that were according to them "too heavy"?, that....really bugged me.

Btw I was one of the one's who probably got that board taken down in my heated argument with Mattias while he was claiming to be Bjorn. It closed down the next day. Good riddance too as most of the posts were about how bad the new album is. If I were Anders, I'd shut it down too, but not before taking note that a lot of people were very displeased with the current style of music. The only way R2R is their best selling album is because they have a video on MTV2, and they tour with bands who havea mindless zombie following who get whatever album is somewhat related to their band. Notice how Meshuggah suddenly gained some notoriety after Jack Osbourne played one of their CD's to piss off the neighbours on the Osbournes? Coincidence? I think not.

/End of Rant.

Yep at the last IF show I went to they played with Jag Panzer and Iced Earth (great show) and I was screaming for them to play "Clad in Shadows" and "Stand Ablaze" and stuff like that. They kept playing all this Clayman stuff (THEY DIDNT EVEN PLAY MOONSHIELD, MY FAVORITE SONG!!) But they did actually play Artifacts of the Black Rain and Clad in Shadows which kicked ass. I don't want to see them unless they play with some good bands.
