In flames music is not the same when they tour with bands like slipknot etc. They only play the new stuff, because that's all that would keep fans of easier bands from going "what the hell is this" and booing the band and never buying tickets to shows that In Flames plays at. Honestly when you tour with cash cows, you have to adjust otherwise you won't get on the bill, that's just how it works. When I saw In Flames last April, everyone knew the Clayman songs, and when they broke out songs like Clad in Shadows, almost everyone arond me was just kinda reacting in a "what the fuck is this shit" attitude towards it. I was one of maybe 1 person of 1/4 of the people there into songs like artifacts and behind space, the rest of the "fans" stood there baffled and confused as to how their "extreme and super heavy band" could play songs that were according to them "too heavy"?, that....really bugged me.
Btw I was one of the one's who probably got that board taken down in my heated argument with Mattias while he was claiming to be Bjorn. It closed down the next day. Good riddance too as most of the posts were about how bad the new album is. If I were Anders, I'd shut it down too, but not before taking note that a lot of people were very displeased with the current style of music. The only way R2R is their best selling album is because they have a video on MTV2, and they tour with bands who havea mindless zombie following who get whatever album is somewhat related to their band. Notice how Meshuggah suddenly gained some notoriety after Jack Osbourne played one of their CD's to piss off the neighbours on the Osbournes? Coincidence? I think not.
/End of Rant.
