So how's the new Behemoth album?

I'm with J. on this (and I'm more a death metal fan than a black metal fan). I've never been impressed by Behemoth's death metal stylings. Their work when they were black metal was much more interesting. Try as I might, I cannot find myself particularly interested in Demigod, and I don't forsee anything short of quite a shift of styles making me interested again.

oh well, I'd agree if we only take thelema 6, Zos Kias Cultus, Satanica into account, but I found Demigod to be quite enjoyable...

Trumpets, Warrel Dane, A Choir, Kick Ass Art Work. Hot damn this has all the elements necessary to make my neck endure blunt force trauma!

/waiting for Erik and friends to come and say: "the cover is all computer drawn and is not some random forest in Norway, screw this."

This album slays. I haven't enjoyed a behemoth album this much since Grom. Death metal still? Yes. A little more blackened? Yes. Riffs that shake the earth around you and make children cry for their impudent gods? Indeed.

Caught Behemoth on Friday with Keep of Kalessin at the Starland Ballroom in NJ. Wow. I'm not a Behemoth fan. I've never seem them live and I don't any of their CDs (though I picked up The Apostasy after the show). I was blown away by how good they are live. Their stage presence, image, energy and musicianship compliments their music perfectly. Even if you're not a fan, their live show is worth catching.

Keep of Kalessin was solid. I might have been more into their performance if I was down and front and had a few drinks in me. Seems like they would be a great fit for HC.

This album really lost its awesome with age...

I still enjoy it, but not half as much as I did when it first came out.

Still better than their last few albums though.

yeah I lost all interest in The Apostasy with time, but "Armada" from Keep of Kalessin (KoK lol) still get a few spins... great album.
