So I always loved Reaper...

I've just been using the default, I've never been one to obsess over skins or anything, it's function over form for me!

God damn every time I see a screen shot of Reaper I get flashbacks from the coke studio where we used Vegas. It looks soooooo much like it.

Haha, check out the USB keys pre-loaded with Reaper (home or commercial license), they even have the Reaper logo screened on them.

Haha...the last place I worked, the owner got into coke, I left before my rep could be fucked by his coke binges and fucking over clients left and right, which brings me to real jobs that I hate. Anyway, he had Vegas as the host on a monster PC. So...Reaper brings back memories of my friend and "boss" going nuts, coke'd out of his mind. Thanks Reaper!

Whoah!

Oh damn, I already closed all the shit before I re-checked this thread :\

I'll see if I can find it again. There is also one I d/l'ed that has the look of PT8, which looks pretty nifty I will admit.

Alright, I actually d/l'ed the file, here are some links!
Cool API theme:

API Console Theme rar

The one I posted before:
Nice theme

The PT8 one:

There are screenshots and download link on that page.

Also, http://stash.reaper.fm/browse.php?q=tag:Themes&cat=Themes&v=th&o=ha&pp=96 is the page I was browsing earlier. I have it sorted from highest rated to lowest rated so check them out!

There are a bunch of themes, most are crap, but some are pretty neat.

I downloaded Reaper and am really liking it, though there are some stuff I don't like that much, the loading of plugins for example, it opens one windows, then when you select the plugin it opens in another window, but within a Reaper's window, don't know if that's clear... But anyway that's minor stuff, haven't tried MIDI yet

This thread prompted me to download Reaper to give it a try, and I can't do anything with it cause it freezes whenever I try to switch from Waveout to ASIO. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm using Reaper for about a year now, and I really like it. I've switched to Mac about a month ago, because I've got fed up with Windows reinstalling every half year and such things (I'm not trying to start a flame here ). My problem is that Reaper is running slowly on my Mac (dual 1 GHz G4 MDD with Radeon 9000Pro and 2 gigs of ram). I have a P3 900Mhz PC with integrated video (Intel 815 maybe) and 512 MB ram at my workplace, and sometimes I'm mixing on that machine, when there is nothing to do during my .

Reaper is running much more smoother on this P3 than on my Mac. I think the problem is not with the processor speed (playing back the same project while monitoring the CPU load), but with the graphics card. This is obvious when I'm scrolling the timeline, or zooming in and out.
I don't really understand why, because the Radeon 9000 is much more powerful than the Intel815, so I don't get it. Maybe I have to do some tweaking in the OSX preferences, or in Reaper preferences? Can Somebody give me tips on doing this (I'm unexperienced in fine-tuning OSX)?

I've tried out Logic, and it is running fine, but I cannot get used to it's interface and workflow (complete opposite of JoeJackson :)). So if Logic can run fine on my Mac, I think it should be able to run Reaper fine too.

One thing that I miss in reaper is the ability to export midi tracks with tempo and time signature information. It would be much more easier to move projects between daws, because you could export a midi track as a tempo track, and then you don't have to manually edit tempo and time signature changes in the other daw.

Hmm, interesting. So there really is no way to export MIDI with temp/sig info? Reaper is looking kinda weak in the MIDI department, as someone else already said, so I guess it doesn't surprise me if it's like that.

That's the fx-chain, this is really handy because you can save for example an entire guitar fx-chain (eg. Revalver, IR, EQ etc.) in one go.
If you just want to easily access a specific plugin, increase the mixer vertically and you'll see your plugins there, click on one to open it.
