I know it may be a little risky to bid on such a thing like this without asking any questions or doing TOO much research (I read some reviews on the net, including some by people who play the same kind of stuff I do).

I've been planning to buy a new amp for a while now, and have recently cleared myself of debt for my guitar, with a couple grand remaining in the bank.

The amp in question is a modified head from a V-22 combo, with the cabs removed and a piece of wood attached to seal the enclosure on the bottom.

Any input?

I lost it by $10 because my dad was on the comp and I couldn't get back on to check the auction before it ended.

So now I ask ye all,
upon what kind of big fucking tube head should I spend my hard earn'd jew tokens ?

I still use my old mans ol SVT V-4 head. Thing refuses to die, even after 20-30 years of use. Great for more rockin doom stuff.

Takes a long time to warm up these days though.

Sounds good running through the custom Tone Tubby 4x8" cab I use, with the ART NIGHTBASS... though, to take full advantage of the rest of the setup, I really should get a more current head. I just don't play enough these days to warrant a purchase though. More into the engineering side of things.
