So, I just got this 1997 2channel Dual Recto, noticed immidiately MAJOR improvement

Why didn't you guys convince me to buy a Mesa earlier? I mean, I've only had it out for 10 minutes, and I think it's been one of the greatest things I've bought, even with the 6V6 powertubes it currently has inside.

So, this is the rhythm guitar tone what I got with metalzone and ampsims (same lead guitar track on both, and same guitar and ts9 settings used on both clips):

And this is what I got with the dual recto dialed with settings that sounded good in the room, with SM57 just slammed "somewhere around there" without checking anything.

Signal chain: (clock settings)
- ESP LTD EC1000: bridge pickup emg81, drop d tuning
- Ibanez TS9: drive 7, tone 5 and level 12
- 2ch Mesa Dual Rectifier, orange channel: gain 4, treble 1, mid 9, bass 8:30, presence 2:30, master 8
- 2ch Mesa Dual Rectifier, red channel: gain 4, treble 1, mid 1, bass 10:30, presence 8, master 8
- Harley Benton 2x12" with Vintage 30 elements
- SM57 about an inch away from the grill cloth pointing somewhere near the center of the cone
- M-Audio Profire 610 preamp

The guitars are a bit louder in the ampsim clip, but they sound SO muffled compared to the recto. If I would've actually used more than 3 minutes to set up the mic and amp settings, it would most likely sound way better. But not bad for first try I'd say.

Dont like the sound on the clips...but good to hear you like this amp! I hope I will get my in a few days....cant await that shit!:hotjump:

The Recto clips already smoke the shit out of the ampisms clip in my opinion! Sounds way beefier and more natural. The tone isn't as distorted, but still sounds a ton better than fake sims. Congrats on your purchase btw! Totally jealous over here!
