So I threw a mic on my Recto

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with it. It's a bit woofy, but my TS is at my rehearsal space atm. I do like it without the TS as it sounds a bit more open. Here's some details for those interested:

Schecter C-1 Blackjack with Bare Knuckle Miracle Man
3-Channel DR with JJ preamp tubes and JJ E34L's
Rivera K412T cab (V30's)
Apex 770 mic
3rd Channel Modern, Silicon Diode
Bass 9:00
Mids 10:00
Treble 11:30
Presence 9:00
Gain 2:00

I really wanna hear this with a bass track thrown in there
don't feel like I can judge this tone properly without one

although in all fairness it sounds pretty much perfect as far as leaving room for bass goes actually

Thanks for the input! I brought my bass home last night, so I'm hoping to record a proper song with real riffs and bass using this tone in the upcoming week. I'm just wanting to know if the base tone seems balanced across the spectrum, as often I will think I have a decent tone but in the end it's either really harsh or really bassy.

Yo dude, sounds pretty good, though definitely needs a bit more gain IMO (though a TS would probably help, as it's also feeling a tad unfocused). Pretty balanced and full though, so I dig! (though I think I'd like a bit more presence too, but I like tones with a bit of cut)
