temporarily. I was cleaning my ears and apparantly i pushed some wax deeper than it was supposed to be and it plugged my ear. I guess my middle ear produces a lot of wax

. Now it's all irritated, and I can't use those earwax remover drops till I get rid of the irritation. I have antibiotics and some other drops, and in a week I can start using the remover drops.

Does anyone kow what it's like to not be able to use one of your 5 senses for an extended period of time? It really sucks. I now have a hightened sense of hearing on my left side, and everything I hear out of it is loud as fuck

that sucks, ever try the candle method?? it gets soooo much stuff out of the ear.
you get a special kind of hollow candle with a pointed end that has a hole in it, and tilt your head to the side or lay your head in a girl's lap or something, now where was i....oh yeah, so the conical end with a hole is in your ear, and you light the top of the candle, and it burns, and the smoke creates airflow, a vaccuum, and it sucks out the wax, i've had it done before, it sooo relaxing and it cleans your ears super well. But its kind of dangerous because the candle itself burns, not a wick, so you could get burnt, but its worth it

Yeah, Kasia (Leprosy) told me about that. I wasn't to keen on putting a fire next to my ear.

What you need to do is go to the doctor and have them clean your ear. Those drops never work. You need the doctor to stick this huge syringe full of water in your ear (no needle, of course) and push all the water inside. It doesn't hurt a bit. It might be uncomfortable the first times, but you get used to it.

And never use q-tips (or however that's spelled) again!

Yes, I do.... it SUCKS. The only alternative I see is what Cris suggested, but be careful, though.
Something like that happened to me, but not because of earwax, but because I didn't have earplugs handy at a concert, so I just used tissue. Well, it seems that some of that I didn't remember to remove and it got stuck. When I went to the doctor to complain that I had something in my ear, the idiot took at peek and said it was wax. i also used the drops and no shit. It wasn't until I was in Japan and was trying some of those "hook" type Q-tips from the hotel, that it got caught on sth, and out comes the freaking tissue. Needless to say I was completely relieved and have been badmouthing the "doctor" ever since.

> I could say something stupid about Bob's ass and wax, but I'm not gonna. That would be schmuggish.

when i take a shower, i wash my ear with a little soap, then rinse it out with warm water in the shower. just let your ear fill up, then turn your ear to the side, and let the water run out. oh yeah, q-tips are for cleaning the outer ear, hehe :tickled: ...and always remember, never put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.
