Hello i' m RonnieJamesDaddo from Florence (ITALIA!), i' m a big Fan of Saxon! The new Album is a real MASTERPIECE, really! My Favourite track is the H.M. Hymn "Rock is our Life" and "Deeds of Glory", wich remember me the sound of "Forever free" album!
All the Tracks of "Killing Ground" are Great!
YES I AGREE SHADOWS ON THE WALL IS MY FAV AT THE MOMMENT.REALLY GREAT THOUGHTFUL SONG WITH POWER IN IT.

My favorite track is shadows on the wall, it kicks major ass.
I really really like the "from out of the sky" part.
Other tracks that i really like are: Killing Ground, Court of the crimson king, dragons lair and rock is our life is also great (but I do think the lyrics are a bit cheesy especially the ending with the chanting)
And the remaining tracks are great too (of course)
Btw I'm quite new to SAXON, Killing Ground is my first SAXON album! I heard a couple of songs from Metalhead but I don't think i liked them that much (as far as i can remember).
I heard good things about Unleash the beast. Is that album as good as Killing Ground?
How about the older albums what one should i start with?

I would have to say Deeds of Glory is my fav track from Killing Ground. And to Nuclearmummy, yes I would say Unleash the beast is a better album then Killing Ground.
I'll be different from the rest of you....My favorite track is:
1. Until hell Freezes Over...I love the verses on this one...Biff's voice is fantastic on this one!
2. Killing Ground...another great epic title track!
3. Dragon's Lair...very good uptempo track
Those are my 3 favorite tracks right now...The entire cd is solid!
The re-recorded classics are great, as well...I really like the re-recorded Denim and Leather...

Anyway, my fav is definitely "Killing Ground", followed by "Shadows on the Wall", "Dragon's Lair", "Coming Home"...actually all of the songs on the album are great

I just picked up the new Saxon album today and it definitely rules. I don't have a favorite track yet but I will soon. "Deeds of Glory" stands out on a first listen. The cover of King Crimson's 'Court of the Crimson King' was good (although I saw no credit given to King Crimson on the album). Overall I can guarantee this album will receive alot of time in my CD player.

To nuclearmummy: On the topic of which old Saxon albums to start with , you can't go wrong with Wheels of Steel , Strong Arm of the Law or Denim And Leather. They are classics!!! I would also suggest Power and the Glory and Crusader. In my opinion you can't go wrong with any Saxon album, but if you are just getting into the band any or all of the five albums I mentioned are great introductions to the bands music! Well anyway keep it heavy & keep the faith!!
