So it was really some time since i did an a/b test against my HW Prime SSL and my favorite ssl plugins, The Glue and Duende. It might be that i did the a/b test last time with my old Digi 003, can't remember. I actually used my HW on snare for the most part of last year, it really adds that HW snap, but i think i have to start to bounce the snare and start using the HW on my master bus after this test.
My own personal opinion is that the HW sounds just what i come to expect from a HW unit. Smother more punch in the transients without dulling them up. Better stereo image, and better lowend.
Judge for yourself and tell me what you think. Oh and i used the Glue on x16 oversampling.
