No it's not an excuse at all... We can't beat them there period... many reasons why it's a tough place to play, but no excuses...
Yeah okay....
Apparently it won't be possible for us to discuss a USA soccer or other CONCACAF team's result without your condescending remarks.
You've succeeded, I won't be posting in this thread again.
Ahhh come on, did I really piss you off? Why, just because I think you guys listed a couple of lousy excuses for the USA's performance in Mexico? You're being ridiculous!!
If you were so offended, maybe you're not used to the whole soccer taunting/provoking/joking thing. As far as I'm concerned, that's normal around the whole world when it comes to discussing sports... ESPECIALLY soccer. If you can't take it, then I just don't know...
I just think finding ACTUAL reasons for a loss more useful to the team and the team's future results than complaining about the other team's crowd, temperature, etc. That's all.
Now grow a pair. I'll see you at the stands the next time Brazil plays the USA in North America. Give me as much hell as you can possibly do. I will actually look forward to it. It's part of what makes the rivalries fun.
Mexican fans pissed in cups and puked in cups and threw them at Donovan when he was taking corners...
Actually - you really peeved me back in the Confed Cup, especially calling one of my comments "ludicrous". It kind of all added up. I shouldn't have taken it so seriously since you don't seem to know alot, much less care, about the CONCACAF teams.
Fair enough, you provoked me. Sorry, but I've been a die hard USA fan for over 20 years now. I've seen them rise from a bunch of college kids that stumbled into the 1990 World Cup to a team that is on the cusp of being able to compete with the best teams in the world.
Playing at Azteca is very difficult - we've only had one draw there. There's altitude, smog, and 110,000 fans. It's intimidating and difficult for any team to play there. The Panamanian ref that day certainly was intimidated as we didn't get any calls. Add in people throwing puke on you and it's hard to keep focus. THAT SAID, we've had a difficult time holding a lead in the past few years. It seems that when there is any game changing event (card, goal), that we fall back an become tentative. Sometime we can get away with it since our keepers are usually very good. But the USA needs to learn to better hold the ball in the midfield and not be so tentative and keep pushing forward.
Fair enough, I grew my pair back. I was being a whiny bitch and you called me on it. I'd love to try to give you hell, but it's damn hard when you're a Brazil fan. Maybe those ugly yellow jerseys!
Best I can do is remind you of the 1998 Gold Cup!

And I'm sorry, I still don't think Costa Rica is that good. And yes, I do follow the Concacaf as well.
Dude, I wanna get you a beer at ProgPower. Please come introduce yourself. It'll be fun.
he's a choking piece of trash anyways uke:
Mexico is at Costa Rica this weekend - should be interesting. It could be a momentum shifter in terms of qualifying. Nobody is in a safe position right now.
I'm not attending ProgPower this year, otherwise I would absolutely introduce myself. Maybe next year though.
Cheers
I want to watch that game. Saturday night, we also have Brazil x Argentina. That should be a killer match. If we beat them, depending on another result, we may be qualified in advance. There's actually a chance Argentina may not make it at all, which would make it for an even better treat.
Ahhh, what a shame. It'd be nice to have a soccer chat over a beer. I'm always up for that, regardless of the sides! We'll def. do it next year!
