England absolutely smashed Croatia 5-1 yesterday to make it 8 from 8 and into the WC Finals. If they play like they did yesterday they might push the likes of Brazil and Spain.
Last night, the world had a little fun. Clark's goal was sick. But, I caught Saudi Arabia/Bahrain. Man, the two injury-time goals were incredible. As for Mexico? They got a cheap win against Honduras. Honduras had them in knots last night, but just could not score.
Now, how many people believe Maradona will be on the touchline vs. Peru?

I am glad Honduras lost because it improves the USA's chances for qualifying. We could still get the top spot in CONCACAF.

Nice to see Manchester City and Tottenham playing well. Sucks to see West Ham playing terribly. Nice to see a certain one of the big 4 struggling a tad. Maybe a new team in the top 4 at the end of the season? Can only hope.

Hah... I love how there's no more hype all over Man U now that CR is out. It just goes to show that I was right a few months ago. People really didn't care so much about the team, only about that little bitch just because he was the "cool player of the year."
I hope Man U. gets relegated and joins Newcastle and such. I know it's not a realistic dream, but man, I'd be so happy.

In a match that should have had 10-11 goals scored between them, the US pulled one out. However, our defense was badly exposed. Honduras came at goal virtually at will. Costly broke away and missed one off the post in the first, Pavon blasted one into orbit from the spot when the chips were down. Not to take away from the US, whose three goals were spectacular, especially Casey splitting the defense for his second (That was a mark of brilliance), any other team would have ripped 6 goals past Howard with the defense as bad as it was. The US needs to tighten the defense if it is to have any chance in South Africa.

It feels great, maybe because of pure relief, to see the USA through to the WC. I would have been on the edge of my seat for all of Wednesday's game had we not won.
I was surprised we won the game - I can't recall the last time we won a qualifier, especially in the hex round, in Central America. 3 great goals by our side, helped by some choking by the other side. Honduras has been very strong at home, nobody has beaten them in qualifying when they are at home.
Honduras has some very talented players, I hope they can come through with either 3rd place (they'll need a win at El Salvador) or win against the CONMEBOL 5th place team.
Our defense should be alright for the WC. Boca, Onweyu, and Spector are solid, but we do need a steady option for left back. That position has been a revolving door.

I watched the game, and agree that it was good. USA has to really watch out what they're doing in the defense, it doesn't look like you'd hold on for too long if you play like that in the WC. I hope it improves.
Brazil played Bolivia today and LOST. First loss in 15 months. We played like crap, players are blaming on the altitude, which I find BS. We're still in 1st in the Conmebol, but not undefeated anymore. Whatever.

As far as I know, Bolivia had much less to play for than Brazil. In fact, Brazil should be the one playing for pride, afterall, losing to a shitty team like Bolivia is pathetic.
