Social Networks; The Realm of Vacuous Mingling

timeline is slow, unusable, confusing bullshit

whoever came up with that needs some pretty basic UI design lessons

Agreed. The status updates being staggered on the left and the right side of the profile is confusing to me, makes it hard to follow along...and the whole idea of having years worth of posts to look at just seems junky to me. Luckily, I've been steadily deleting old posts all along once I feel they've "expired," so there's nothing to see on mine past this month. The only thing I like is the cover photo, but in exchange they've made the profile picture too small. Meh.

it's an absolutely baffling decision

this ui is not intuitive in any way. it feels like there should be some significance to what is placed left and what is placed right, but there's not??? the timeline in the middle is utterly superfluous and contributes nothing. this is one of those "WHOA WOULDN'T IT BE COOL IF..." board meeting ideas that should have stayed on the drawing board. completely arbitrary, cluttered, ugly, hard to overlook. 0/10

and did i mention it's SLOW AS HELL

from Google's new Privacy Statement

"We can provide reminders that you're going to be late for a meeting based on your location, your calendar and an understanding of what the traffic is like that day" - Google

if youre referring to the safesearch thing its trivial to turn it off

they really respect your privacy though, and don't attempt to tailor your search results to who it thinks you "are", which are the main things about it

Deleting and deactivating your account
If you want to stop using your account, you can either deactivate or delete it.
Deactivate
Deactivating your account puts your account on hold. Other users will no longer see your profile, but we do not delete any of your information. Deactivating an account is the same as you telling us not to delete any information because you might want to reactivate your account at some point in the future.
You can deactivate your account on your account settings page.
Deletion
When you delete an account, it is permanently deleted from Facebook. It typically takes about one month to delete an account, but some information may remain in backup copies and logs for up to 90 days. You should only delete your account if you are sure you never want to reactivate it.
You can delete your account here.

Ah ha!
