I know Chuck was/is a big Soilwork fan. I saw him sing "Follow the Hollow" with the band at the Cactus Club last year. I wonder if they'll be any guys from Testament getting their Swedish metal schwerve on at the Pound this Friday???
Yes the Testament crew will be there this Friday night, I think all the guys will be in attendance, as well as Zetro, & many other Bay Area musicians, this is a big show & its summer time, the weathers been Killer! it was 90 degrees in the city today, outdoor show, can't wait.........Steiner I'll be wearing a Testament Hoodie....red logo yellow border(on front)...European tour dates on back, or just ask any of the boys, to point me out..........

Won't a hoodie be a little warm DE?? 90 degrees and all:erk:

I'll be at the Portland show Saturday night....anyone from up here going to that??

Short skirt DE???? You must be looking at your wardrobe not mine. :tickled: I know how you like to show off those hairy legs. I was thinking more like jeans, T and a flannel to keep me warm.

Lost?? I'm a travel geek I printed lots of maps to help me get there and around and have a map of the city. Have a nice cold beer waiting for me when I get there :Spin:

WENT TO THE SHOW LAST NIGHT. WASN'T ON THE GUEST LIST..DIDN'T HAVE A TICKET..BUT MANAGED TO GET IN AND GET MY PHOTO PASS.

SOILWORK:

DON'T KNOW THEIR MUSIC TOO MUCH BUT THEY PUT ON A GOOD SHOW. VERY INTENSE!

IN FLAMES:
BEST BAND OF THE NIGHT. PLAYED SOME OLD STUFF. THE NU STUFF SUCKS COMPARED.

TOOK ABOUT 100 DIGITAL PICS AND MET SOME 28 YEAR OLD BLONDE.
WORE MY "FUCK PEACE" VIOLENCE SHIRT.

GOT SOME SHOUT OUTS FOR IT AND ALSO WORE IT TO A TRENDY LA CLUB (IVAR) AFTERWARDS.

I'm having a real dillema about this show. Tomorrow night is the IF and Soilwork show in Portland...this show is completely do-able because I get off work tomorrow at 5:30..that leaves an hour and a half drive time to Portland and I'll get there right about when the doors open...then Sunday I don't have to work until 12:30 so I can sleep in a bit (since I probably won't get home until around 2:30am.

So here's the dillema....

I found out today that NEVERMORE will be opening the Type-O Negative show in Portland Sunday night. I'd MUCH rather see Nevermore...BUT...I don't get off work until 6:30 Sunday and I have to be at work at 4:30am Monday morning!!!

This sux sooooooo bad!!!

I say stay home both nights, & rent some chick flick's......cause IF is too heavy for ya.......& Type O.....sucks.....& Nevermore will only play a short set......I say save all your $, for Opeth only........
Where's your Bro?...I'm sure he'll complain that IF is'nt agressive enough........then he'll compare them to Carnal Forge(for no reason at all)...........:yell:

Well MM I had a nice cold beer waiting for ya, problem is that it got warm......I'm glad your a travel geek, but you need to work on your Math, & figure how long it takes to drive up here, & what time you should have left, cause you never made it to the show at all.......
nice try...:Smug:......I guess that LA traffic put you way off schedule.............o_O.....but at least that gave you extra time to put on your make-up & hooker wear......:p...............:Spin:....

Don't go...it's like twenty bucks, too much for an In Flames setlist composed mostly of Reroute To Retardation and Gheyman songs. Save your money for DEATH FUCKING ANGEL.

In Flames is worth the 20 bucks alone.......but since your not going to be there, then its a real bargain!

Hahahahahahahahaha...wearing a hoodie on an SF night is just common sense. The Pound is a stone's throw from Candlestick park. It was cold and windy as fuck! The only people wearing T-Shirts were the tweakers. Even a half dozen beers didn't keep me warm.

The show started off pretty bad...Chimaira was late and Soilwork had to play after Unearth. The sound guy just KILLED Soilwork. It sounded like he had everything set to "Mudvayne". All I could hear was bass, bass, bass, bass. Everybody was shaking their heads, but nothing was done about the shitty sound. I couldn't even recognize what songs they were playing sometimes. Soilwork played like 4 or 5 songs, said they had to wrap it up, apologized for the short set, and walked off stage. I dunno what happened. Maybe Bjorn hurt his throat trying to be heard over all that shit.

Chimaira was solid. They told everyone they were filming a video for "Pure Hatred" and it got everyone pumped. The highlight of their set for me was when they played "Eyes of a Criminal". I love that song. I even saw a couple girls running around in the mosh-pit during it. These guys have really evolved as a group. The first album sorta sucked, the new one is good, but I think the next one will be awesome. We'll have to see. I think touring w/Slayer for a year really rubbed off on these guys.

And then In Flames came on. Holy shit. These guys are such pros. Their live sound was tight. I just stood there watching Jesper tear shit up for like an hour. His timing, creativity, and guitar solos are amazing. Say what you will about R2R, but these guys are still the kings of the Swedish metal scene IMO. From now on, if In Flames come to California, I'll find a way to see them - even if I have to drive down all the way to San Diego. They were just that good. I'm telling you, viva fucking Sweden. ;)
