Dang DE..,.you're on a roll aren't ya?

Well...I went to IF...Nevermore is NEXT month on the 20th (whew!)

So here's my take on the show...if you all care...

We got there at 8:30 so we missed Unearth...or whatever they are called..a friend of mine who saw them said they weren't bad..

Then Chamara came on, they played about a half hour..I watched the first 3 songs and got bored with them...kinda samey. They sounded good though.

Then came Soilwork. I've seen In Flames 2 times before but I haven't seen Soilwork, so I was looking way forward to seeing them. Ok I'll start with the good..the new drummer really impressed me for only being with them for a month, he was really tight with the band and pulled off the tricky drumming from the older stuff quite well! The 2 leads were great and the sound was really good. BUT...this had to be the most lifeless show I've ever been to, the band had no energy at all and Speed was really in a bad way. I don't know if he was sick and losing his voice or just tired from the whole endless touring, but he was really weak..and he didn't do any of his clean vocals..he just half assed growled the clean parts. All in all...very disapointing for me...I sort of felt sorry for them..just thinking about how the poor guys were just tired...that lasted till In Flames hit the stage...

In Flames were flawless...they played for an hour and 15 minutes and they were just killer!!! They got the crowd (who had practically fallen asleep during Soilwork) back up and way into them. It was their best show I've seen yet! I can't say enough about those guys...I think Steiner said it for me! The new stuff off of R2R came across really good live.

All in all...I'm glad I went...In Flames was well worth the $19 ticket price..they really delivered!!!

Talked To Speed at the SF show, he was having difficulty with his voice, he told me he could'nt do any clean vocals at all, & yes they were lifeless, for the songs from them I saw, this is the end of the tour(2 shows left), & everyone on that tour is tired, & Soilwork was just looking beat up!.........surprised you noticed MI.........What did your bro think?.....Agressive or Non agressive......? And who did he compare Carnal Forge with?

I'll be at the Portland show Saturday night....anyone from up here going to that??

Little do you know SF's weather patterns, but I'm born & raised here, & yes I definetly needed it, along with everyone else...........that night!

Ok...the fuckin Carnal Forge and the Hoodie point has been driven right into the ground...enough already....thank you in advance for giving it a rest DE:Smug: Why don't you go listen to Heart of Darkness or something...

I just have to say that In Flames rules the Melodic Death genre....and Bjorn...if you're reading this...you are a complete HOTTIE:OMG:

Well MM I had a nice cold beer waiting for ya, problem is that it got warm......

Thanks for holding the cold beer for me but considering how cold I heard it was out there I doubt it would have gotten warm besides knowing you you probably didn't hold it very long considering how much you like beer. I was holding a cold beer for you in return since you said you were gonna stop by after the show but your old age caught up to you and you went home and straight to bed instead.

I'm glad your a travel geek, but you need to work on your Math, & figure how long it takes to drive up here, & what time you should have left, cause you never made it to the show at all.......

nice try...:Smug:......

I knew how long it would have taken to get up there but who would have figured the show to have ended by 11pm. Thats earlier than the all ages show in San Diego. At least our metal youth get to stay up till 12am banging their heads here.

I guess that LA traffic put you way off schedule.............o_O.....but at least that gave you extra time to put on your make-up & hooker wear......:p...............:Spin:....

Yeah I wear my hooker wear just for you cause your jealous I look better in leather pants than you do. :Smug:
