Soilwork

I think they're horrible. Their old stuff is a complete At the Gates rip-off, yet it's still better than NBC because now they sound like a nu-metal verison of a swedish metal band! They're so.....bad....

Please explain, what's nu-metal about it?

nu metal is something like pop with distorted guitars!

really clean production not too much power in guitars and false rap rhymes!

groups:linkin bizkit:lol: ,system of a down(expecially the last),korn,static x:Puke: etc

i think that nu metal is not metal at all.

This'll prolly turn into another nu-metal debate, seriously we're all sick of them :p

Nu-metal to me is like the glam-rock of metal, commercialisation of music in order to make money, the use of schoolyard angst and all that rap shit. I've actually never heard of bands such as limp bizkit, korn, static-x or linkinpark actually call themselves "metal" tho.

Big fat Dickinson in their faces.

:D

NBC is a great album regardless of what you think about it. Soilwork is a great band and are very good at what they do. IMO i think this album along with predator's portait are their best albums.

Please, please, please, please do NOT put System Of A Down in the same league as Limp Dickshit, Linkin Park, Korn and Static-X. It's just not right. OK, you may not like SOAD, but I'm sure you cansee that they are a completely different kind of animal than the bands they are grouped with. IMHO Toxicity is a brilliant album, and SOAD deserve all the praise they get.

But anyway, enough with the nu-metal debate, back to Soilwork. I agree that there is a slight hint of nu-metal(ish) influence in NBC, but there is NOTHING wrong with that IMHO. I think it gives them a fresher sound. At least they're not like fucking Manowar who keep making the SAME (shitty) album OVER AND OVER. At least Soilwork progress and change their sound. If you want to hear the same sound, just put on Steel Bath Suicide and put the album on repeat, and pretend you're listening to their new album.

we are in the forum of a band that have no need to nu metallize
its sound to be fresh!

:err:

Who said that bands need to nu-metalliz their sound to sound fresh? I'm just saying it's one of many ways to do this. Soilwork and In Flames chose a nu-metal influence, Opeth chose a brutal death influence (blastbeats on Deliverance), both cases are the same thing, trying to progress.
