Soldano HotRod 100+ vs SLO

I've never tried the SLO but they say the Hot Rod is supposed to have the SLO circuit. Don't know if that is true though, Well I had the Hotrod 100+ for a short while and if you want the pure essence of Mesa Dual Rectifier and Peavey 5150 you got it. This is as pure as it gets. So fucking raw, thick, true...

I loved it :D

I used a friends SLO 100 to track several years back, and nothing has ever been the same since. It was crunchy but very articulate at the same time. Despite price it's been on the must have list for a while.

Unfortunately I haven't A/B'd with a HotRod, however I really can't imagine anything better than the SLO I used. That being said even the same model of amps seem to be different from piece to piece. I'm sure playing another SLO wouldn't have the same exact mojo of the one I played. I'd be happy with close..

I'm not certain anything I said has helped, but that's my 2 cents.

This. I played an SLO a few years ago and it was exactly how Ola describes above. Fucking amazing, especially with a 4x12 with V30's - still drooling over that tone. I have the Jet City JCA20H now which is based on the same circuit but not in the same league.

EDIT: Fuck I misread what Ola was saying. :( I played the SLO, not the Hot Rod...

Looks like I'll find out fir myself very soon.
Hr100+ with an improved loop a second lead channel (clean was turned into a second identical overdrive channel) and an added depth pot.
Can't wait:)
