And who gives a fuck, I'm talking 'bout motherfuckin' Falco and shit!

you mentioned the cover pfff

CD cover, illustration, I'm talking about style I like, if it's a rip off, who cares? I like it. I like it cause it's a rip off and twenties woeful typography, yes.

wouldnt mind you, your taste and visual sense is up yer hole, obviously, how would you know its a rip off, pfff

well depends what you call 'artists' . painters? illustrators? well most have a similar visual vocabulary in their work, on the other hand, thing is these days, someone picks up a pirate copy of floppyshop, calls themselves a designer, in the wrong hands with no foundation, chaos, ah it looks good this will do, slap a bit of 'default' typeset on it and it will be grand :erk:
painters, photographers, writers, designers....whatever.
mind you not everyone who paints, writes... is an artist

and yes floppy shop is just great isn't it? you're right, but i think there's good stuff there too.
and as for taste: i like the AND cover, i think you don't. who's gonna judge who's right? i've never liked REM, loads of ppl do... are all these ppl wrong? am i wrong? neither is in my opinion

oh, and do you have some url's from these ppl you mentioned? didn't find much with google (or i opened the wrong ones probably...)

haha, dirk rudolph has one book called Spark, he doesnt need a web site, vaughan oliver has no site, lots of books, one worth €300 +, peter saville has a few books, no site either, though you may find him under saville associates, i have the urls but its more fun looking for them :D

goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooogle!!

what the fuck you on about now?, who said anything of AND cover, well i dont personally like it, its not suitable, reflection in the water is blue, sky is red? o_O but thats floppyshop eh, some of the smaller things can go unnoticed ;), and its just too literal and prog like. the typeface for 'a natural disaster' is one called 'Cezanne', after the painter Paul Cezanne, (its based on his hand writing) it does go well with the almost painterly aesthetic of the image, but hand writing unique to this project would of been better, write it, scan it in :D. people react to this differently, subconsciously, they perceive it as a cover for a prog metal group, why would you think that? well one would be the style of classical logotype, kerned letters, large and centred top, and the dramatic imagery. maybe theyve seen this before, and they would be right, Rush, Queensryche, etc come to mind

I already pointed out that a AND looked like it was done for a bad prog rock band...do ye think annyone listened?? did they fuck

the fine day packaging was a good idea but it was overdone horribly :erk:

aye the cover is grand for a fine day, brings to mind , momentarily lapse of reason by floyd, all the hospital beds along the coastline, i had an idea to do a parody on that but use babies buggies and call it a relapse instead , would need a few 100 buggies  wouldnt be so hard to find here these days, so many of them on the street, fuckin hell

I juat thought of summat, we can have a version of "changing rooms" for cds here!
ikea can be richard lllweleny wotsits and meck can be our chraaigg. they can inspect current bands cds, make nasty comments about them and then fix it up all proper. much to the horror of the band. Like some death metal mongs having their "pussoaked virulence" cd booklet turned into and excercise is relational space and light. it'll be boss

AND was just an example.and i've read what you say about the reflection and that on another forum long ago.and commented too i think.
about the perception of the image, well i don't have a clue. that's to do with marketing and stuff , no?
So what kind of covers would you sugest for anathema? which rules should they stick to?

id suggest anything where no man has gone before ;), well yea it has a bit to do with marketing in one sense, though, common sense is all it is, just bypass the generic stuff, avoid fashion, its almost like looking into the future and predicting the outcome, a bit difficult to tap into, but so is writing a winning album of music

Put down what you dream about, that's super-progressive-regressive :) I still have some images stuck in my memory from childhood dreams, where no one has ever gone before, hehe.

will you ever shut the fuck up! super progressive regressive alwin mind shite,we dont want to know, it might communicate something to you, but not to us. we all have images from childhood, whats new

Why do you always talk about yourself in the plural, "we, the people"? Is it some metaphysical thing? The godly symbiosis.

You're pathetic. If I ever shut up that's not gonna be cause you told me so.

And your argument is controversial "it might communicate something to you" and then "we all have images from childhood, whats new", at least you could decide if you're dumb or not.

Though this wee thing may refer to something much more concrete, omg, hell no!

good idea! why didn't i think of that myself :p if only it'd be that simple to find something new and unique

yeh, predicting the future isn't easy.
i wonder how many people pick an album by its cover though. i know i don't
