Some fake 5150 distortion again, harhar

I really like it as always. Tell me everything! Wagner? Was it the first impulse he posted or the second one with a higher presence? What settings? What post processing? What curve eq? Pics! EVERYTHING arrrrhhh I must get your tone!

Wagner with default settings.
His last impulse, with more presence.
Post processing some minor compression on the guitars, no Curve EQ.
Just Wagner and the impulse file. I'm getting better results right now but I still struggle with bass all the time.

Can you post a raw clip you recorded through Wagner and I try to tell you what sounds wrong

jesus man.... You're surprising me all the time.... Do a CD for god sake.... :D Once again, could you tell me something 'bout drums? Please.... :D Keep up the brilliant work you're doing.

Cheers, SkyMan.

See I don't understand how you get wagner to sound like that. I'll post a clip of me using those exact settings. Did you use anything as a boost before wagner? That clip sounds scooped but you say it's all default settings. Default settings are everything in the middle right? Except I know you put the resolution all the way up. What about the gain? If that is at 5 then I dont understand how you get so much gain from it even with EMGs.

yes, everything in the middle. It sounds scooped, yes, but that is Wagner unfortunately, I wanna see how far I can get when the new Revalver arrives.

As for the high input tone: I have a mic pre and push the signal alot so it's clipping the input in my daw, then I push it back so it's at max without clipping. I hit the strings hard, also I have the pickups really high, almost touching the strings, especially the bridge pickup.

But for any amp sim, the key is to get a high input tone from the start.

a ha! that is your secret! I was wondering how it was possible to get that much saturation without any kind of boost in the signal. May I ask why you don't use a tubescreamer? Also, what string gauge and picks do you use? What mic pre do you have? When applying curve eq(I know you didn't for this particular clip), do you attenuate it at all? Do you use the max eq points? I always put it on 60. Do you leave the settings on the revalver impulse loader at default? Do you use the high resolution setting and not press the resample button?

Can one of you explain the input process of clipping/but not clipping your daw to get saturation for amp sims? I am using cubase. Is your mic pre clipping or your daw clipping to get a good sound out of an amp sim? (anyone have a pic of the input channel on cubase and what exactly its doing...are you hitting the very top where it goes past the faders- red) (also a pic of revalver's input channel)
