it was totally DIY and in a GYM! kind of crowded and REALLY hot by the time they were finished, but it seemed like a lot of people were really into it. i thought i overheard one guy run up to nick kyte and shake his hand and be like "toby? toby driver?!"

i dunno, most shows i've been to over the past few years have had ear-pluggers. i would do it. seems like people are finally learning that if you're a real music fan, you use ear protection at shows instead of ending up permanently audially fucked.

I'm an ear-plugger myself, thus the sarcasm in my remark... I hate the whole "METAL 'TIL YOUR EARS BLEEEED!" type mentality, I've even come to think musicians should be held liable for excessively loud concerts.

If I could get some money off the Hellacopters and the Supersuckers for their life-long gift of tinnitus, I would.

I mean, I know there's an element of personal responsibility in all this (which is why I always plug nowadays), but to what extent do "teenagers who wanna rawk" realize that they're exposing themselves to a permanent condition?

I'm the poster boy for tinnitus. I have hearing loss for certain frequencies and live shows are pretty much in my past.

especially at kayo dot shows where they play "Marathon".

those are really good pics, alex. not to discount the amazing INSANE eyes pic, but that closed-eye forbes pic is really awesome. also- finally a full action sam pic!

really, the only thing that would make that closed-eye forbes pic cooler would be if he was playing into that giant mic in mia's pic.

i was standing really close. also i think im getting a little better at taking pics (finally!).

the Sam pic would've been better if I had gotten it about five seconds earlier--he was doing this crazy huff-and-puff with his cheeks and opening his mouth and stuff, but i got the camera aimed a bit too late...

I wear earplugs all the time too. Band practice, clubs, shows you name it. All that thanks to SYL who basically killed my right ear a few years back. Fortunatly it appears that I am somewhat in remission (I have no idea how that happened isn't hearing loss supposed to be permanent?) but the ring is almost gone and my hearing is almost as good as before, it took two years though.

my favourite word in conversations is "what?" and i realised that i can't really watch some movies while i'm high/tired because i really need to devote my mental attention to context clues just to determine what the heck they're saying.

How come Toby dwindled down his show shirts from two to one? I used to like the diversity of the Monsters of Rock shirt with the Meriden Boys Soccer shirt. Now sadly, all I ever get to see is what we all see now. Every. Single. Show. Who else wants monsters of rock>?
