1. I know this may sound stupid but how should V be read, I mean V as a Roman number, ie 5 or as the letter v in english?

2. What is the song damnation game about?

3. Why did the band call itself symphony x?

1. I'm pretty sure they are going for Roman Numerals on that one, i.e. V=5. There's alot of references to the number 5 in their lyrics "power of five", "five align", etc.

2. I believe it's based on a book of the same name. No idea for sure, as I haven't actually read the book itself.

3. Because they rule. Hahaha... I can't remember why, but I think it's on Symphony X's website in the FAQ section.

the name of the band is a tribute to the Xzibit song, Symphony in X Major.

Regarding The Damnation Game, I've read the book by Clive Barker, but I can't really draw any parallels between the book and the song/album. In the foreward of the novel, Barker says he found great inspiration from versions of Faust, in particular the version by Christopher Marlowe. If anyone has read it, maybe they can throw their two cents in.
