PANTERA JUST CAN'T STOP! SUMMER HEADLINE "EXTREME STEEL" TOUR DATES CONFIRMED!

After a year of sold-out tour dates, Pantera could have easily just unpacked their bags and headed home for a while. Instead, the band the New York Times has credited with creating "its own phenomenon" will hit the road one more time. Lead singer Philip Anselmo, guitarist Dimebag Darrell, drummer Vinnie Paul and bassist Rex Brown will once again keep the metal nation alive. Joining the lads on their assault will be Slayer, Static-X, Skrape and Morbid Angel who just can't seem to get enough of that Pantera road stuff. (Morbid is presently on the road with Pantera for their current tour). "Air-conditioned comfort at a high-decibel level will be the theme of 'Extreme Steel,'" states Vinnie Paul. "We wanted to kick off the summer with a little metal madness of our own. Being Texas boys, we know how brutal the outdoors can be once June rolls around. We figured our fans are ready for a little evening excitement without any humidity other than the heat they'll generate all on their own." No word if the Pantera and Slayer camp will collaborate on any new tunes together. (Slayer's Kerry King recorded the lead (outro) on Pantera's "Goddamn Electric" during the Dallas Ozzfest in '99.) If you happen to be in Anchorage, Korea, Australia or New Zealand in May, catch the boys there. (below). COC will be joining up for the Australia and New Zealand dates. Could someone read that and try and work out if its COC only doing the dates here or COC WITH everyone else mentioned, I cant work it out........

I had to point this out on another message board but I'm pretty sure all that is totally wrong. COC supported Pantera on tour here last year... and I'm fairly certain that the Aust tour dates are identical to last year's too... I wouldn't get your hopes up. I think someone on the Elektra website got confused.

Ahh crap
Ahh well, that must mean we are getting a Slayer headlining tour instead then, right? :D
