$12 usd advance ticket??? WOW... i will go to San Antonio Tx next february 16th and the cost is $23.50 usd plus $5 usd for shipping to Mexico

I'm not out to make a ton of money on this show -- I just want LOTS OF PEOPLE to be there and have a great f*k'n time with what I consider to be one of the best modern power-speed-metal bands of all time!

I would be very, very happy to break-even on this show and have had dinner face-to-face with the band and have put on a great show for all the Sonata fans in the midwest.

All about the music,
Nathan

An example of their basic full concert setlist within last months looks like this:

Wow, you beat me to it!

I found your first set-list at this link:

The other set-list was great to compare to, thanks for posting!

You've seen Sonata 3 times in the past seven months? You sound like me -- I saw Manowar/Rhapsody 3 times last year over a 3 week period.

i agree with you.. good thought
Here.. this kind of concerts is around.. $30 usd

Just got back from the NY show and it was great and pretty full house to boot. Crowd knew their songs well. I think the setlist was the same as the dvd taped show. anyone know if they did anything different?
I will have a review and pics from the show shortly, will post the link for all to enjoy.

Just got back from the NYC show. Amazing performance, amazing crowd. When it comes to Euro power metal I think Sonata may be one of the most popular out there. This crowd may have outsized the recent Stratovarius and Kamelot shows and I would say is about even with Finntroll. Americans are starting to get a taste of whats in the water over there. It is about damn time.

Awesome to hear!

It'd be realllly cool -- although I don't expect it -- if Sonata Arctica could outdraw the screamo bands who will be performing downstairs at the Masquerade the same night Sonata are scheduled to play upstairs. :hotjump:

That would be awesome. There was a group of Killswitch Engage kiddies there with scraggly hair sitting by the entrance. Looked like their one friend in a HammerFall shirt dragged them along. The Killswitch kids were scratching their heads, must have been shocking to hear some good music.

lol!

Mind you, I have nothing against Killswitch Engage. The one year I attended Ozzfest (for free), they were the only band whose set that, by happenstance, I caught in its entirety. --And they were decent, but I was there for CoF. Haven't returned since, and don't really plan to.

GOOD MUSIC -- that's a good one, I'm sure you are not far from the truth! :tickled:

14. Don't Say a Word
15. The Cage

Vodka Song

AMBR, after the -break- you have a ton listed under 13.
Is that because its varible at that point? Or do they really play all those?

I'll be at the atlanta show on Feb 18! Can't wait!

Note the 13th item is entitled "Medley". That's what all those are. They played bits of each song. The first few and last few, Tony sang the lyrics, the rest were instrumental. It was fun, but a bit of a tease.

Doh, I didn't even notice the "Melody" name :P lol. Ah man, that sounds so awesome! Thanks for the input.

Oh yah.. SA's site doesn't show anything for Sept. ... hmm.... would that not be the greatest thing the in world.. SA at progpower...
