Agreed 100%. That vocalist has some fucking pipes!

I think you both need your ears checked. Sure, he had pipes.....during "Queen of the Reich". But, basically, they were not that good. I would have rather had another hour of Sonata. Hell, I would rather praise the wisdom of Marcelo Cabuli at a Nightwish convention.

Peace,

Nevermind, I see the list for the Atlanta date.

Dark Asylum - http://www.myspace.com/enterthedarkasylum

Devane - http://www.myspace.com/devane

Dark Asylum sounds like shit to me. Don't like vocals like that too much. Probably will be bored in this one judging from the samples.

Devane actually doesn't sound that bad. Could be a good opener.

There's so many melodic bands in the Mareitta-Athens area, I'm not sure why they got Dark Asylum.

Oh well! Going for SA anyways!

Wow, Dark Asylum is terrible! When I first saw the list of openers for the SA concert in Atlanta, I immediately checked metal-archives.com for information. Apparently, there is another Dark Asylum from Brazil who is pretty good and I thought that they were opening. Why couldn't they get Theocracy?

I tried to hook that up, but the Masquerade informed us (my roommate Tim and me) that they wanted Atlanta-area bands who could draw a crowd. Clearly they're worried about the show's draw, since Tim told them S.A. would draw about 30 people.

So, one presumes that Dark Asylum and Devane can draw a crowd.

I know the guys in Devane (and one ex-Devane), and they're pretty cool.

I'm worried about one of the opening bands for tonight's Chicago show. Their singer is named "Gwendy Gwendolyn" and they sound and look techno. After looking at their site (http://www.grigori3.com/) a bit, apparently they are goth. Should be an interesting crowd.

At least Ion Vein will be the other band. They always do a quality show. I pity you guys who only get crappy opening bands. :P

That would be awesome. There was a group of Killswitch Engage kiddies there with scraggly hair sitting by the entrance. Looked like their one friend in a HammerFall shirt dragged them along. The Killswitch kids were scratching their heads, must have been shocking to hear some good music.

I swear, the average age here in NoVA was about 16. Lots of kids into SA, for whatever reason...

Anyone got a review of the show here? I was, uh, not in the best frame of mind after our set, so I wouldn't give a good account.

I'd review the show, but I don't know any SA song titles, so I can't tell you what they played. I can say that they were fun, did a good job on stage, and sounded great. The crowd skewed WAY young, with the majority seeming like they were under 21. I'm curious to know how people are finding out about a band like SA, as it's not like they're getting any radio play. Hell, SA doesn't sound ANYTHING like what's currently on the radio, so I'm at a loss as to how so many people know the band and can fill up some place like Jaxx.

And yeah, those openers Division rocked the house, as always. One of their better sounding shows at Jaxx recently. I guess the sound guy was awake this time. I didn't see the other two openers, as I was eating. Jaxx has good food!

Anyway, I had a good time at the SA show. I'd like to see them at a bigger place, like, oh I don't know, Earthlink Live, perhaps?:Spin:

I do too... luckily for us.. we get AGHORA to open this show.. we were going to have Power Metalers Wolff Pack but they're touring west coast this time.. and the guy who got Aghora on the bill, is also trying to get GAIA to play.. I know Gaia is on this year's PP compilation.. but I'm not so sure if they're going to play.. I don't think.. Aghora, certainly..

Anyone going to the show at The Galaxy theater in Santa Ana. If I am still out here and I hope I am since I have tickets I am going. Then maybe if I get to go home that following week I am going to try to go to the Atlanta show also. I see that Prymary is opening and Scarred. I know Prymary but not Scarred anyone know about them.
