Song of the day.

The new album has leaked and it's pretty spectacular. Best since Youthanasia at least, maybe even up there with countdown.

Honestly man, don't raise my hopes like this. Seriously, has the album leaked? Has anyone downloaded it and heard it for themselves? When is the official release date?

I would happily take something on par with Youthanasia, considering the last two outings.....although I have to admit, Risk had one redeeming song: "Time - The End". I bet Mustaine wrote that one years before he recorded it.

Anyway, somebody feed me MP3s. I'm hungry. :Spin:

Yes, yes, but it's 'deth - just give me a few samples, not full songs. Shit, I'll take them at 96K bit rate. :loco:

Just checked out "Blackmail the Universe" again - sounds fucking brilliant now. The riff reminds me of "Take No Prisoners". :Smug:

Just noticed that on the re-release of Rust in Peace, there is a bonus track called "My Creation", taken from the same RiP sessions. No way am I buying the re-release but I'll take the bonus track, ha.

Goddammit, I hate it when I hear things like that because it always makes me want to buy the re-releases.
Aha! Those damn marketing ploys! :Spin:

By the way, release date for The System has Failed is September 14th.

Its pretty good, I like it but there are still some points of faggotry at work. (see: mega-ballads :vomit: ) Of course Dave is uber-pissed at the leak, but he's a Christian faggot and can GO TO HELL (like his own song... tee hee hee)

Megadeth roooools.

My song of the day has been Centrefold by J. Giels Band

But, yeah, cool to have a release date for it now :) ...shit, not that long actually!

It should just be assumed that Megadeth will never make another RiP. It will be fair, however, to compare The System has Failed to CTE, Youthanasia, and elements of Cryptic Writings.

Overall the way I'd rate the new megadeth reflects what Demonspell said... It's better than CW, Risk and TWNAH, but below CTE. There certainly isn't any song as good as something like Foreclosure of A Dream on it..

You're forgetting Youthanasia.

Either way, this is an absolute return to form. Megadeth may be the first band to prove that greatness can return. EDIT: Sorry Maiden, forgot you boyz. :loco:

The first four tracks on the new Megadeth are probably some of the best 'deth songs I've heard since CTE. In fact, after listening to it twice now, I'd say this is the best 'deth album since CTE, meaning it's better than Youthanasia.

The drumming and rhythm is as tight as fuck - some serious click drumming going on there, and the first barrage of riffs remind me of a cross between "Polaris" and "Take no Prisoners".
