overall this sounds pretty good, dude!

vox compression is all wacked though and i'm hearing more bad/unfinished edits than i'd like to. especially in gtrs... =D

there seems to be a LOT going on at times, almost like the song is over written (i know you may not have much say in this) but the songwriting and arrangment really is kind of terrible, IMO. and, i'm usually into this type of shit.

Thanks guys!

I agree about this being a very busy composition. But like you said, CJ, I didn't have much say in it.. It's only one song, so once they come and do their full length, I'll spend a week or so on pre pro.

I will indeed be posting DI's for this song! So watch out.. In it will be the real drums, 5150 reamps, and DI's. :)

The kick and toms were all not mikd though, just triggered, so that will be coo?

yeah, I'm trying to learn to deal with as many different possibilities when mixing. From what I heard, you never know what kind of crazy stuff the next band will bring you when they track with someone else so it pays to be prepared.

Indeed. It was my choice to use triggers for the kick and toms though.. I attached a kick pad to his kick drum to deaden the kick a little, to lessen overhead bleed, and then put the trigger on, then just attached 3 triggs on the toms. Easy cheesey!

Sounds great ! :)
Most stuff have already been mentioned.

But there is one thing.. and maybe this is just me.. but im not feeling the DM vibe with this, it sounds more like you are using your normal "presets" for core music for this band. It got this kind of plastic feeling to it.

But as already said, you did a fine job anyway !

I didn't use any presest for the band. All real amps, drums were all sampled and used for the drum sounds. They call themselves "deathcore" not death metal for some reason.. I tried making a nice beefy mix, but a little organic sounding as well.

You are on the right track sound wise. I think it lacks a bit of low end, and the snare could be brought down a little.

Yeah, dident mean actual presets.. more like in the way that EVERYBODY have personal go-to settings they like.

But if the client is happy then no sweat.. just that I would personal like a bit different overall sound.
