Any of you guys digging on the Swedish band Soreption? I discovered them and their EP some time last year and was eagerly awaiting the release of their full length since four tracks were just not enough for me!

Anyways, I suppose it's basically quite technical death metal with (depending on your definition of course) bits of melodic-ness (as opposed to melody ) and groove poking through. Quite clinical sounding and I have to say that at least the guitarist may well be in the runnings for the tightest guitarist I've ever heard (the drummer seems pretty tight too). Some of the stops and starts in the material are ridiculous, and I would've just put it down to editing until I saw some videos.... so here are some videos of them tracking the new album and other bits and pieces:

Drum tracking:

Rhythm guitar (this guy's technique blows me away!):

More rhythm:

Finding the lead tone:

Tracking solos:

Bass:

Vox:

Production is pretty dry and lacking a fair bit of punch, but everything is really clear and apparent. I think it suits the band quite well.

Here's a full new track that was on youtube (hopefully legitimately):

Any other fans? Or newly made fans after this thread?!

They are definitely very talented guys but I don't dig their music much. I liked their EP a little bit more than the full-lenght. There're better bands playing technical DM like Necrophagist or Jack Slater IMO. Don't get me wrong - this is very good band but their songs bore me a bit.
