It is so interesting to see these video studio footage, and to be honest, quie learning !
I never knew you could do like record drums and cymbals seperatly, so the drummer first have to play the song without playing cymbals ! The album is Produced by Machine ( Lamb of God, etc ) and i was quite interested and i have to admit i learned some studio stuff of seeing these videos of Eighteen Visions being in the studio with Machine. I know it's a Emocore ( or whatever you want to call it ) but the studio footage is sweet IMO and i actually liked theirlast album.

here is the studio footage:

Drum Tracking (#1):

Hope u guys enjoy it.

Cool but I posted this lik a month ago. It ended up in a conversation about how Machine tracked drums for LOG. As a matter of fact I think you were a part of the convo.

Does anyone know what mic this is?

It serious looks like 5 diffrent mics. The only thing I have to go by is the support bar on the grill.

Looks like a C12 to me as well. I've only ever used them once and that was a llllloooong time ago. It is hard to tell for sure with the tape. I really like the approach they took with the drums on this. I might try that with a band in a few weeks, see how it goes. :)

Just curious. What is a long time ago? 1 month? 2 years?

I heard the album and the drums sound really unnatural.

I sound like half drum machine to me. I really wasn't impessed with sound, not to mention all the time it took to record the tracks Im sure.

Friend of mine tried it years ago, but only because the drummer wasn't really a drummer and couldn't get his shit together to play everything at once. :loco:

ok i really dont hear too much of a difference than any song with the drums recorded normal, im listening to the song off the new album and it sounds good but nothing too special.i still may try this on my next project just for kicks (since its my own band). and since i only have 8 mic pre's(firepod) that would allow me more mics to use for both shells and the cymbals, anyway. if anyone has any more input id love to know
