I guess I pissed some people off by taking the piss out of Derek Riggs. I didn't mean to piss of The Maidens. I know he's your buddy. I was just trying to have some fun. When I see a target I shoot. Hes a great artist and I love his work. I'd love to have a beer with him one day.

I went back to delete all my posts but it was closed and wouldn't allow me to. Please you are more than welcome to delete everything I typed there if I offended anyone.

Roasting on someone is only fun if everyone finds it fun. If someone gets hurt or upset, then it is in bad taste and I never mean to do that.

Its hard when someone like this is a friend of the people that this board is about.

Yes some of his comments were a bit high and mighty, but you ask the question you get the answer. Artists are fiercly proud of their own work.

Lets just hope these comments dont tarnish his reputation with IM.


Also you have a point, us brits mercilessly take the piss out of one another, we call it banter. The thing is banter really only works well between friends.

Derek is our friend and we know what he's like - and that interview didn't show the real Derek. I think some of the comments in that interview were meant to be humourous but didn't come across that way.

Your bantering can come across as bashing so your apology is very much appreciated, Acujer.

Printed words with no facial expressions or personal energy behind it to clarify intention can be difficult to interpret (especially if you don't know that person well) whether it be a forum post or a print interview. Smilies can help much in this respect - even though they are silly little things, they do help get the point across....

To be honest, on internet forums, I think its fun to make fun of people. Its kind of like when you laugh when you see someone trip and fall. Its mean, but how can you not laugh when you see someone trip?

Derek Riggs draws the art of my favorite band. I love the guy! I love his art!

His comments in that interview seemed like they needed a response. I thought I provided the appropriate responses. Obviously it came across as rude. I'm not a rude guy. So I apologize again.
