Could you help me?
I have played guitar since july (that's a long time,7 months :D )
and I have been playing mostly rhytmic stuff and writing songs.

Since I'm getting bored with playing rhytm guitar only,I would like to learn some solos.I heard from my cousin ''Itsemurhailija'' (Yes,yes,he's a guitarist too :D ) ,that if I'm going to play solos of Bodom,I should begin with bed of razors.He said it has technically the easiest solo.
I have been practicing it for a while now,and I would like to know am I playing it right.

First of all,what do you think about the sweep part before the solo:

I have been playing it like this:

D||------------------12--15-/19\-15--12--------------|
A||--------------13--------------------------13----------|
F||----------12----------------------------------12------|
C||------14------------------------------------------14--|
G||--15----------------------------------------------------|
D||--------------------------------------------------------|

---------------7--10-/14\-10--7---------|
------------8-----------------------8-------|
---------7-----------------------------7----|
------9-----------------------------------9-|
--10----------------------------------------|
---------------------------------------------|

------------------12--15-/19\-15--12----------15--|
--------------13--------------------------13--12-----|
----------12--------------------------------------------|
------14------------------------------------------------|
--15----------------------------------------------------|
---------------------------------------------------------|

But then the slide back thingie is hard :mad: ,and I seem to forget it from time to time. :p
Or should I play it like this: T
12--15--19--15--
and so on?
Or how do you play it?

And now,I'm sorry to ask this,but if you would be so nice as to give me hints/fingerings for the real solo.I can play it fluently with max tempo at 80bpm.When I increase the tempo,I swear I would brake my fingers. :mad: :lol:

Heres the main solo to save your time a bit ;)

Thanks for helping me out.

:headbang:

Keep on rocking

If you've only been playing for seven months, you shouldnt be attempting CoB solos..Try some solo's from other bands that you like that are alot easier..

Well,I have been playing solos Europe:Final Countdown,Ozzy Osbourne:Mr. Crowley.What do think about that :D .
Also solos of Norther and Nightwish.Norther solos are ''quite'' easy. :D

Guess it would be good if I told you that I'm left-handed playing in the right-handed way.That might effect to something. :rolleyes:

Yes, and its fullish of you to change your hands. Sorry to say that, but it would be easier for you to play in your proper way. But maybe I didnt understand u quite good, do you just put the neck of a right hended guitar in your right hand, as left handed guitarists do? Cuz thats wierd :D
:guh:

Wow ! It looks like one of my post !
I also was asking about figering and things like that ! :lol:

I also play for 8 months, or something like that.
Contrary to you, I never really played lot of rythmic part...
I'm starting only now. (And that's really hard to... :mad: )

A part that I liek, which is not really a solo, but which I think is good to practice something like solos are the different melodic parts of kissing the shadows. The hand don't move a lot, but the fingers do.
It start with this :
Q. S S E S S S S S S Q. S S E S S S S S S
||---------------------------------------------|--------------------------17-15-14----------|
||o---------------14-15-17---15-14-15-14-------|---------------14-15-17------------17-15-14-|
||--16-----------------------------------16-14-|-16-----------------------------------------|
||---------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------|
||o--------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------|
||---------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------|
|

And this one :
E S S e S S e S S e S S
|-------------|---14-12-14-------------------------|
|-------------|12----------15-14-15-12-11-12-15-14-|
|-------------|------------------------------------|
|-------------|------------------------------------|
|-------------|------------------------------------|
|-------------|------------------------------------|

Other than that, most of Bed of Razors is "easy" to play I think, even if it's not reallt a solo. That's at least some parts I can play with a tempo faster than 100.

Btw, have you some examples of "easy" rythm parts ?

Just do it the way that sounds best to you. Some people will say that you shouldn't be attempting CoB solos after only 7 months of experiance, but how in the hell will you learn? You will progress faster by practicing difficult things. When I started out, I began with simple shit. I think mainly because I was only 8, and my hands were too small. I began the more difficult training when I was around 12. Now I am 19 and have been playing for 11 years.

My suggestion:

Practice practice practice!

I think it is very important that you got good righthand technic(picking techinc) to play solos. Kissing the shadows "solo riff" is very good practise to that. Firts play slow and more speed when it goes right.

Jeez? Not supposed to be attempting CoB solos after 7 months? I've been playing for 2 months and I can play most of Bed of Razors including the solo and most of Silent Night (currently learning the solo).

WTF?2 months?Fuck you are good....

Onkin pitäny kysyä,et kauanko sä soitit ennenku rupesit sooloja veivaamaan?

To others:Hmm I have tried playing in the real way,but that's hard to me.(I know,I'm a left-handed freak.... :cry: )

2 months and u can play most of bad of razors solo, i wish to heard that, cuz ive got a firend, who said, that he could play the beginning of bad of razor. I was very happy to hear that. Since I heard how he plays it, I recommend all of those who thinks the same way, to prepare sth good till they announce anything.

I play for almost 6 years, and I must say, that most cob solos, areeasy to play, but including dynamics, speed and acurance they become so fucking hard, that in the nirmal tempo i have problems playing for example that line, that far-will-drive-devil included. Maybe am and untallented guitarist or sth, but I dont believe that after such a shot period of time someone could play any whole cob solo.
Sorry, thats my opinion

2 months, 7 months, haha yeah sure. I keep seeing these kinds of people on the internet saying they can pretty difficult stuff after just a few months, and I kept thinking "damn, why aren't I at their level?". Then one day I heard a couple of soundclips from these kind of guys, and fuck, talk about sloppy. If I can only play a song that sloppily then I don't call myself "able" to play that song.

If you want to prove me wrong, please go ahead and do some recordings. I'd like to hear someone play bodom after 2 months, or the final countdown solo after 7 months.
